Damián Ortega was born in Mexico City in 1967. The artist began his career as a political cartoonist and has since shifted his focus to sculpture and installation work, winning countless awards and honours and exhibiting his art across the globe.

Ortega currently lives and works in both Mexico City and Berlin and his ongoing series of deconstructing and suspending products and scenes has continued to delight and intrigue his audience.
