These Paintings Were Actually Coded Using Only CSS and HTML

Written by

In an ongoing series of digital artworks, web developer Diana Smith ‘paints’ in code, using only CSS and HTML. Smith has even made all of her hand-coded artworks available on GitHub for others to learn and remix.

Currently the paintings are designed to render optimally on Chrome. Trying out the code on other browsers like Internet Explorer and Opera produces some interesting results.

Below you will find Smith’s digital paintings along with an interview she did with Vice. For more, check out the project on Github and see her website for more info.
