White batiste camisole, pantaloons, petticoat for 1850's/60's
This listing is for a pattern by Ann Van Doren Designs for an 18" doll "Combinations" undergarments as worn by a young American girl in the late 1800's and early 1900's. NOW INCLUDES SVG CUTTING FILE! The Combinations feature a faux flap in back and a ribbon drawstring neckline, with elasticized leg openings trimmed with lace. Front placket opens with buttons and buttonholes or velcro. The pattern includes 14 pages of step-by-step instructions with large full color photographs for each step and is suggested for intermediate level sewers who are already familiar with standard sewing terms and techniques. A text summary is also included if you prefer not to print out the photographs. It is available as an instant downloadable pdf file and prints out on standard 8 1/2 x 11" paper. The combinations are modeled by my Nellie who measures 10 3/4" under her arms (chest) and 10 1/2" at the waist. I recently purchased a new Kit doll and the dress is a bit more snug on her, so please measure your doll before printing the pattern. If your doll measures larger than my Nellie, you may want to print the pattern slightly larger than 100%. Fabric and Notions required: 1/2 yard cotton batiste or muslin (15" will suffice) 1/4 yd narrow (3/8") cotton lace 1/2 yd 1" wide cotton lace 2 6" x 1/2" wide strips of iron-on interfacing 1/2 yd narrow (3/16") ribbon 10" 1/8"w elastic 2 3/8" white buttons 4 1/4" white buttons Fray Check FOR CUSTOMERS WITH A CUTTING MACHINE: The included SVG file includes all the pattern pieces laid out on the straight grain of fabric. Since cutting machine software often resizes SVG files, I've included a 1" square on the page to assist in correcting the sizing of the pattern pieces. ©Ann Van Doren I am not affiliated with any doll company. I believe Tomi Jane drafted the yoke pattern herself. Here's the original listing: Here is a three piece outfit with a pioneer look. The dress is made from a purple reproduction print, along with a bodice inset of plaid. The dress has very typical mid 1800s styling, with a round yoke, gathered bodice, dropped sleeves, and skirt with two growth tucks. The sleeves are trimmed with cluny lace. The separate apron in ivory, is hand embroidered with a feather stitch, and fully lined. The dress and apron both fasten in the back with small buttons and hand-worked button loops. To complete the look, I have made a self-fringed shawl from a very soft wool. The wool drapes (falls in natural looking folds) very well. I forgot to photograph the shawl. It's very pretty. These outfits are not mine, but I love admiring them. Tomi Jane also is such a good photographer! :)
The Ruffled Petticoat is a full petticoat gathered into the waistband. It has three 12" ruffles. This petticoat can be worn in a variety of ways: as shown over the Hoop for a mid-19th century silhouette, with a bustle pad, or on its own. Fabrics and colors: off-white, white or black cotton, ivory o
