Cosmic Love Amelie repaint doll
I grew up in a family of artists. My mother often made dolls for me from paper or papier mache. She instilled in me a love of needlework and an interest in the doll as an art object.

Here we have my older, basic top down sleeveless cardigan but I have added different design elements to make it long and short sleeved, plain or with pleat edgings or with turn back cuffs on short sleeves. Knitted in Stylecraft Special Double Knit yarn. The different colours and styles show what can be done with a basic pattern. It fits most popular 18/19” dolls and is modelled by Gotz Hannah and comprises 3 different cardigans. This knitting pattern can help you create a detailed aran cardigan, like the ones pictured here. The sweater may fit a variety of 7-8 inch or 11-12 dolls, but is specifically fitted to Helen Kish's Riley & Bethany dolls. This sweater is knitted from the hood or collar downward. It does use some complicated notations to describe the types of increases, which you can ignore & increase in your own way. :) I knit on a front ribbing, and close with snaps. Supplies * Lightweight fingering yarn--I used "Palette" or "Stroll" , available from www.knitpicks.com. * Knitting Needles sized 000 and 0 (1.5 & 2 mm). For knitting for dolls, I prefer using 16" circular needles, and love the Addi Turbo brand. * 4 size 4/0 snaps and tiny buttons to cover. Gauge * With size 000 needles in stockinette stitch, 23 stitches & 30-31 rows in a 2 x 2 inch (5.1 cm) square. This purchase is for a KNITTING PATTERN, not the doll or clothing pictured. You are welcome to sell items you handmake on Etsy or Ebay. A pattern credit is appreciated. This purchase entitles you to use the PDF pattern. You may not sell the pattern itself.
