Hello everyone........another busy crafty week has gone by and here is my new blog post with a little catch up.......in the sewing room LoTs of patchwork has been going on.....new and old fabrics being cut and sewn, arranged and rearranged...... ........my vintage charm quilt was finished off with a red gingham binding.......i love this quilt and making it was so enjoyable..........new flower scissors were a gift...... .............roses from the garden...........so many roses opening now each day and other flowers too.... ..............luckily not much damage was done by the huge gale force winds we suffered last weekend....a few leaves and sticks came off the trees, but the cottage garden is quite sheltered and the plants there were ok even the tall ones...phew.... ............but one highlight of the stormy winds was when part of the wisteria came loose (now fixed up again by mr p) and out fell the tiniest sweetest little bluetit's nest (luckily with no birds or eggs in it).....the nest is a perfect little woven work of art...lined with the softest whitest fluffy down.....and studded with tiny purple wisteria flowers....and as i was staring at it i realised that woven in among all the natural nest material was unmistakably some of my dmc green embroidery thread...ahhhhhh... ............flower of the day today is....columbine...granny's bonnets, aquilegia...it has lots of names and i love it so much..........these pink ones are so gorgeous i had to have a close up picture............ ...........such interesting shapes and colours.......... ............and the lupin growing continues....on snail watch still but doing well in the cottage garden....as with all my flowers i always plant pink ones so these were a surprise but i love them......a sort of rhubarb and custard colour way..... ...........the next fabric play was this piece of collage/patchwork which is for a dress..... ...........a fun mixture of different prints with added appliques and words..... .............making a new patchwork dress for mabel, the big bunny, here below......she will be modelling it for us very soon............but for now here she is in her old gingham....the pattern for her (and her dress of course) is in my etsy shop link in sidebar............ ............thank you for dropping by to see me here in my little blog space dear readers.........thank you for the sweet comments you leave which i always enjoy so much.....i hope you are all well and enjoying crafty, inspired, happy and cheerful moments during this strange time we are all going through......take good care of yourselves till next time............back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I am not a sewer and I don't do a whole lot of crafts but one of my goals this year is to do more hands on projects. A craft room would be ideal and an organized craft room would be a must. Here are some rooms that should inspire all of us. Love the color Pallet. It makes organizing look fun:) Clean and Simple. What a great idea to hang ribbons and paper. This sophisticated office is highly organized and looks like it would be easy to keep clean with all of the specific locations for your stuff. You can take this anywhere you need it. This is filed in my favorites for eye candy! Cindy from Quaint Handmade is creatively fabulous!! Cindy's sewing area is so "quaint". What a delightful space. This would be anyones dream space. I love the mix of styles of furniture. The ribbon on the wall is clever. Lovely:) This book shelve is put together so well with all of the specific locations for magazines, fabric and books. An organized space like this would take a few days to create but it would be so well worth it! You would always know where your items are. Perfect idea for an inspiration board/ storage board. Love the thread wall. Check out the rest of this space here. A good workspace needs specific locations for sewing, working and organizing. For Jmae, Sandra Ree, Karen, MaryAnne and Katie.
Another view of the handmade table ( under $40) I work on... Check back later, as I will be blogging about this - and elaborate on some of my methods. Be sure to check out the new issue of Cloth, Paper, Scissors, Studios! to see more of my studio, and a ton of other fabulous ones -- it's awesome inspiration for everyday folks. With the school holidays starting later this week I have taken the opportunity today to give the studio space a bit of a clean up so it seemed also like the perfect opportunity to "document it". And yes my OCD (or CDO) is showing here :) My little Liberty Stash is also growing with my monthly Society bundle from Ava and Neve. Last week I also added to my "Tower of Bonnie and Camille" with a 'The Good Life' JR. That little collection has long outgrown the cake plate! I like to keep my fabric wrapped around comic boards. They are a thinner and often cheaper alternative to some the brands that are marketed as boards to wrap your fabrics around. My last lot I picked up from Ebay. They were 2nd's and advertised as being of irregular sizes. We are talking all of mm's different to each other so of no real concern and they came in at 5c each! The white baskets down the bottom are from Kmart and they house my random colour sorted scraps. The shelving its that I am using are from Fantastic Furniture here in Australia. I love storing my fabrics like this as it means I can see exactly what I have and I can shop at home first. The wall of colour is also inspiring and having it to look upon whilst at my sewing machine just makes my heart sing. If I had a little bigger space I would have another shelving unit as my AMH is tucked away safe in a cupboard with a few more gems. The top row of fabrics are all of my Bonnie and Camille. Some days I get a little sad because it has shrunk but then that means I have been sewing with it and that is better than sitting on a shelf right? To the far right there are 6 baskets. That is where I keep my Bonnie and Camille scraps, sorted by colour and easy to go rummaging through :) Above centre, I have a slow growing collection of Kona Solids thanks to my monthly "Kona Cotton Collectors Club" at "The Next Stitch". Here I have them will my "Karen Lewis Textiles Rainbow". I hope that one day they will become a rainbow creation. This is my new baby. A Brother VQ3000. We are still getting to know each other and I am very impressed by her capabilities and her huge throat space. When we have had a little more time to play I might just write up a review for her. I recently moved my cutting table out of the office and back into the sewing hub and I am hoping that I will be able to add a bigger cutting table to this space in the future...stay tuned :) As you can see my cutting table isn't that big or is it that I just have a few projects on it that I am slowly working on all at the same time? Truth be known, the real reason for my clean up today was to find those Liberty squares (above the scissors). I knew I had cut them ready to turn into the next instalment of my Diamonds in a Square Quilt but just had no idea where they were. My OCD is happy now. Now I just need to get into the office and finish sorting it out. It has become the dumping ground and work space for many an EPP project whilst on a Netflix binge! Better go, time to go and mess it all up again :) Happy stitching, Sharon You can also follow Lilabelle Lane Creations here

Title: Knitted Garments For AllAuthor: VariousPublisher: OdhamsPublication Date: UndatedFormat: HardcoverCondition: This book is in good condition for its age other than some minor signs of wear.Reader's noteThis excellent book will look wonderful in any quirky, vintage sewing room. It's only practice that makes the perfect knitter, and when you are not yet very practised, it helps to start with easy things. So in this book, we have arranged the garments of the women's section in groups beginning with the simplest stitch and design and ending with colour knitting and designs that need 'making' as well as 'knitting'. Throughout the book we stress using up every scrap of wool, and we have experimented for you in mixture yarns so that we can show you how to use them successfully. Finally make good use of the re-do's and repairs section. It will show you how to give a new lease of life to all those knitteds you resigned yourself to giving up as hopeless. Learn how to make everything from baby mittens to classic women's twin sets!
