***AUGUST 2021 UPDATE: 2 PAGE GLOSSARY NOW INCLUDED! This Australian Animal Profile on KOALAS is part of a collection of Information Reports on Australian Animals. These Information Reports were created to fill a gap in up-to-date Australian animal reading resources for primary school students. The more children know and understand about native species, the more appreciation they will have for them. The future of our planet is in their hands and the time to educate them on the animals who share their environment is NOW! The information presented is a collection of knowledge I have gained through studying (in-depth discussions with Australian fauna keepers at Perth Zoo, access to husbandry guides and research undertaken by professionals in the Captive Animal field), in combination with my own research, my own practice and experience working with these animals, and information presented on Australian Zoo websites. I have collated all this knowledge and presented it in easy-to-understand differentiated reading sheets for students from Foundation to Year 6. All images included in these Information Reports were taken by myself, whilst studying Captive Animals at Perth Zoo in 2020. These reading sheets can be used in combination with my Australian Animals Information Report Template - found on my store as a FREE download, or by clicking the link below: Australian Animals Information Report Template - FREE! Links to the Australian Curriculum are included in this download.
