In art, it is better to sometimes go back to the basics especially when they are soft and so pretty like black and white photography. The art of black and white photography can really be more difficult than you would think in the first place. This is because this form of photography does not use color but still has to capture the essence of the subject that you are trying to capture. While we have an idea about colors and the impact they have on art, there is equal importance that should be given to the black and white concept too. When you start looking for it, you will find several fabulous examples of black and white photography that will have you mesmerized.

Black and white photography has a way of letting the viewer really experience the image. Composition, light/shadow, texture and tonal qualities all become more obvious and important when color is absent.
Clara Bow vintage clown art print 1920s. Created, printed and shipped directly by us in the USA, all prints arrive ready to frame. Each image we sell is the product of numerous hours polishing the original and is not simply pulled off the internet. Note: Digital downloads are typically just pulled from the internet with no work done to improve their appearance. We use a state of the art commercial Canon Wide Format gicleé printer, not a home laser jet printer; this is how we can offer and directly ship large sizes. We print in high resolution from high res scans or actual photographs we have collected. We print on the highest quality photographic paper available-Epson 260 gsm-using 12-color archival inks that are fade resistant for 100+ years. Our Epson Professional Premium semi-matte photo paper has a satin lustre-not too matte, not too glossy, just right. We include a 1/10 inch white border to prevent the lip of the frame from covering part of the image. We can omit or expand border by request. Watermark will not be on the print you receive. Custom sizing or other image requests welcome. ORDER READY TIME & SHIPPING All orders are printed to order and ship within 2-5 Business days via USPS ground advantage (fka first class) mail. Expedited processing and faster priority shipping class options are available at checkout. 4x6 through 8x10 sizes are shipped in rigid reinforced mailing envelopes. All other sizes are shipped in reinforced shipping tubes. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED We produce the highest quality professional photography print reproductions available on the market and pride ourselves on 5 star product and customer service. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, just reach out on Etsy message so we can make it right! PRO TIP In printing, like so many other services, a lot of factors determine the quality of the reproduction. How thick (or flimsy) the paper is, the resolution of the original photograph, the expertise of the individual processor/printer and the time spent polishing the image to perfection prior to printing. Before you purchase a print from just any vendor, look to see if they use a third party printing service/drop shipper, or do they control the entire process by producing and shipping the print themselves? Do they use a commercial printer, or do they simply print on a commonplace laser printer like you would find at Office Max or in a home? What paper do they use? Note: Digital downloads are typically just pulled from the internet with no work done to improve their appearance. About The Artwork What is real? What is an illusion? Can the illusion speak more powerfully than the “real”? The digital revolution in the arts has provided wonderful tools to create surrealistic imagery. I no longer just take images but rather, make images. I may shoot objects with a final image in mind, or just collect them for my “library” that I draw from when an idea comes to me. Some images speak their message better in Black and White where line and form become dominant… where the emotional impact of color is absent and urges the viewer to provide their own. "Lightly Touching Water" is an award winning image that has been widely exhibited and published. All of the separate images come from different times of the year in Tennessee. It is produced in a limited edition of 10 in it's largest print size. It is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 with Archival Pigments. The image size is 40 inches x 40 inches with a 2" border for a final work that measures 44 inches x 44 inches and is shipped in a crush-resistant tube. Signed and numbered on the front, it also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The Certificate of Authenticity has a unique hologram and serial number system that is also present on the back of the Limited Edition print. Your Limited Edition print will be registered with the Hahnemühle Art Registry. You can also acquire the image in various open edition sized prints with a choice of framing or as a gallery-wrapped canvas. www.marcwardphotography.com Original Created: 2011 Subjects: Nature Materials: Canvas Paper Styles: Conceptual Fine Art Modern Surrealism Mediums: Black & White Manipulated Photo Details & Dimensions Photography: Black & White on Canvas Artist Produced Limited Edition of: 10 Size: 40 W x 40 H x 0.1 D in Frame: Not Framed Ready to Hang: Not applicable Packaging: Ships Rolled in a Tube
