Die Kampfanwendungen werden innerhalb der Handformen unter anderem mithilfe der traditionellen acht Taijiquan-Techniken trainiert. Anwendungsbezogen gliedert man sie üblicherweise in Schlag-, Tritt-, Wurf-, Greif- und Hebel-Techniken.
