Another week down and I am back again with another Christmas card to finish up my Christmas in July. My Christmas stash has a wide variety of cards this year and I think I will have enough to send out this holiday season. Today, let’s take a look at a bundle being released with the Mini Catalog. Release date is Aug. 3rd. Are you getting excited? I am and that is why today I have created with the Great Tidings Bundle. This bundle has a stamp set that included 10 cling stamps. It also has a matching die set called Wise Men Tidings. I see many possibilities with this set. The sky was blended with Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy and a blending brush. I blended several layers to the front of the card leaving less color on the horizon. For the stars, I watered down our white ink and stippled the dots with a paint brush. Once those dots were dry, I used a gel pen to whiten them up and added lines to give the illusion that the stars are shining. I stamped and embossed the wise men and water colored them. Just a quick and easy Christmas card by blending, water coloring and embossing. COLOR PALETTE The colors below have the colors used on their garments included. Basic Black Basic White Bermuda Bay Blackberry Bliss Balmy Blue Bumblebee Daffodil Delight Highland Heather Night of Navy Misty Moonlight Petal Pink Of course I did not forget the inside of the card. I just added stamped image into each corner. Welcome to week 5 of Heart of Christmas Blog Hop which I am helping to coordinating this week. There is a full list of tonight's participants listed at the end of this post in case you are joining the hop part way through or if you have encountered a problem. For my cards this week I have used the Whimsical Trees bundle. This bundle includes a lovely combination of stamped and die cut trees that look delightful together. There is also a beautiful bauble stamp that I will show you in later cards. I have used the two new In Colour greens, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen as well as Basis White to make these cards. For this card I have stamped in Evening Evergreen and embossed using White Emboss Powder. All of the tree decorations were cut from the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper Sale-a-bration reward which is available from tomorrow! The greeting was also heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. For the second card I cut the largest tree die from Evening Evergreen card stock. The background paper is Shimmery White card stock which has been lightly coloured with a Soft Succulent wash with a Water Painter. The stars in the background have been heat embossed in Clear Emboss Powder and are from the Angels of Peace stamp set. The star on top of the tree is again from the Be Dazzled Specialty Paper. The beautiful greeting is from the Whimsical Trees stamp set and has been stamped in Evening Evergreen ink. I have lots more cards to show you using this set so stay tuned! The next stop on this week's blog hop is the lovely Amie McIlroy, so head on over to see her beautiful Christmas project. I was at my son's house around Christmastime last year and was given a gift. I opened the gift when they gave it to me and saw they had purchased a nice twelve-cup coffee maker-an upgrade from my old five-cupper. When I got home I put it up on a shelf in the back of the closet and continued using my old coffeemaker. As time passed I forgot about it. Then a couple of weeks ago I was running out of filters for my smaller machine and when I went to buy more all I could find were for twelve-cup machines. Then it came to my mind that I own one! When I got home I threw my old one out and dug in the closet and got out my new coffee maker. I texted my son that I was finally unboxing the Christmas gift. He texted back and said, "It's Christmas in July!" That is the way it is with holiness. We receive the gift of being able to walk in holiness, and thus please God, but too many of us don't get around to unboxing it. Brothers and sisters, it's July already! We need to have a "Christmas in July" in our spiritual lives. It is time we unpackaged our gift and made daily use of it. Jesus said we are to be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect (Matthew 5:48). That is to say, we are to be holy. | Author: Brother Jon | Publisher: CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform | Publication Date: Sep 05, 2016 | Number of Pages: 70 pages | Language: English | Binding: Paperback | ISBN-10: 1537063413 | ISBN-13: 9781537063416

It's time for week 14 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. Every week the Art With Heart Team are sharing heaps of Christmas inspiration with you. This week I have used one of the Christmas stamps from the annual catalogue. It's a background stamp called Festive Foliage. I inked the stamp in Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Gold Emboss Powder. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the large image as it makes it much easier to reink and restamp the image if it doesn't stamp perfectly the first time. I also stamped and heat embossed the greeting from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set in Gold Emboss Powder. Our Embossing Powders come in either a Basics Collection with Black, White and Clear and a Metallic Collection with Gold, Silver and Copper. I cut out the greeting using one of the dies from the Pierced Blooms Dies. I love the border of dots that is part of this very versatile dies. It's a great size for so many greetings. I coloured the leaves with the Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen Blends Markers. A piece of Evening Evergreen Chevron Ribbon is behind the greeting. The final embellishment is a few Red Rhinestones scattered around the card. All of the products I have used for this card are listed below with links that will take you to my online store if you are interested in purchasing. For more Christmas inspiration it's time to visit the very talented Caroline Manwaring to what she has to share with us. Happy 4th of July to all my US readers! Remember the fabric I ice dyed a couple of weeks ago? I used it for a leaf art project that I'm using for coasters! Everyone thinks of Phoenix as having dry heat and that's true for the first part of summer. But when the monsoon flow comes up from Mexico, starting around the first part of July, it can feel like Dagobah from Star Wars! Usually no one's that worried about using coasters because glasses don't sweat - until monsoon and then they pour. I've tried several different types of coasters, but none do a good job of keeping all that water soaked up. I have high hopes for these! Plus they're washable and reversible. Materials: *leaf fabric - 100% cotton will absorb well *fusible felt *green, brown, golden yellow, and copper sewing thread - I used regular thread *leaf pattern found here 1. With an iron, lightly attach a piece of fusible felt to the back of your fabric. Don't attach it securely yet - we'll be pulling up the edges in a couple steps. 2. Pin the cut out leaf pattern to the felt/fabric combination and cut out. 3. Pull the felt away from the edges of the leaf and trim off about 1/8 inch. This is so the felt won't poke out the edges when we sew around the leaf. When you're finished, iron to attach the felt firmly. 4. Cut another leaf shape from your fabric and pin it to the felt/fabric combination. 5. Using a very small zigzag stitch, sew around the edges of the leaf. Trim close to the stitching. 6. Now comes the fun part! Put the feed dogs on your machine down, put on the free motion quilting foot and thread sketch leaf veins. If you haven't tried this before, see this past post. It'll point you to a couple of tutorials. First I went around the outside of each leaf and then sketched in some veins in green thread. 7. Next I made a thick vein in the center from brown. 8. I then added bright highlights with golden yellow thread. 9. And finally I added a few new veins with copper thread and then highlighted a few of the other veins with it. These were inspired by summer leaves - I think I might need to make some autumn leaves too! Happy Creating! Deborah

Welcome to Week 5 of the Art With Heart, Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern. Following on from last week I have continued to play with more of the new products from the September to December mini which are available for all to purchase in 2 days time. This week I have had fun creating with the Merriest Trees bundle. The beautiful background paper is one from the Merry Bold and Bright Designer Series paper pack and features Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce. This has been mounted onto Granny Apple Green card and then onto white. A piece of White card has then been embossed using the Christmas Tidings Embossing folder. It is a bit hard to see in the photo above but it features all sorts of Festive words. This was then die cut using the largest of the Scalloped Contours dies. Then the stamping starts. I have then stamped the largest tree from Merriest Trees in Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Garden Green and Shaded Spruce. The segments of the trees have then been die cut with the corresponding dies from Merriest Trees dies and layered in colour order with the lightest on the top to the darkest on the bottom. The tree has then been decorated using the die from the Merriest Trees that looks like all the strings of baubles. This has been done using More Dazzle Specialty paper in Champagne. The star has also been cut in the same manner. The sentiment is from Brightest Glow and has been embossed in White onto Granny Apple Green card and then die cut using one of the dies from Labels Aglow. Finally a few Tinsel Gems in Lemon Lime Twist have been added. As there was a small strip of the paper left rather than waste it, it has been added to the inside of the card along with the greeting from Merriest Trees stamped in Granny Apple Green. Next on tonight's blog hop is the lovely Catherine Proctor. Click on the button below and it should take you to her blog where you can see her Inspiring Festive creation. If the button link is not working or you would like to see the entire list of participants go to our lovely host Sharon Davern's blog. Hello! My name is Allison Jensen of Woodberry Way and I'm excited to be back in the Bake Shop today with an easy quilt pattern. This one uses Charm squares for a crib quilt, or a Layer Cake for a throw, and is a fun spin on the traditional "Jacob's Ladder" block.

It’s an exciting week ahead as we start the week with a new Art With Heart team Christmas 2021 blog hop showcasing some wonderful Christmas card creations! The blog hop will occur weekly and goes live on Monday nights…so please set aside some time looking through and grabbing ideas while you enjoy a cuppa! I love Christmas but find the lead up to it can be quite stressful trying to send cards and buy presents. Hoping if I start early with the card making then at least it’s one less headache. I have made two cards using Tidings of Christmas DSP which is a 6”x6” pack from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue 2021-22. Along with Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand it also includes the new In Colours Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent. I just love the Evening Evergreen, a rich dark green that is perfect for Christmas. The card base is Evening Evergreen with one DSP layer while another was cut using a zig-zag die from Basic Borders die set. This was adhered top and bottom to the main DSP layer. For the word ‘Merry’ I first used a Blending Brush and Evening Evergreen ink on Basic White card stock to create an ombré effect. This was adhered to Adhesive Foam sheets and then cut out using the Playful Alphabet die set. The word ‘Christmas’ was stamped again in Evening Evergreen ink and from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and I’ve masked off the word Merry. The sentiment was cut from the Tailor Made Tags die set - my go to dies at the moment! I have attached the tag to the letter Y using Linen thread. And the inside of the card has been stamped using the leaves and berries from the Poinsettia Petals set. The second card has the DSP mounted on Evening Evergreen first and then onto a layer of Soft Succulent which has been dry embossed using one of a two embossing folder set from Wintry 3D. I have also used this embossing folder for the large tag too. As before I have cut the letters from Playful Alphabet and the tag from Tailor Made Tags die sets. This time I have fussy cut the Christmas sentiment. I have also added some In Colour Jewels and Opal Rounds to provide some sparkle. Here you can see the Wintry 3D embossing closer showing the embossed pine leaves. And the inside of this card also uses a pine leaf stamp from the Poinsettia Petals set. Please head on to the next participant for more inspiration if you haven’t already done so, the talented Cathy Proctor. If at any time you find a broken link and the next blog doesn’t come up please head to the blog of this week’s host of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop, Sharon Davern, and she will have the list of all who are participating. Wishing everyone an enjoyable week ahead and keep warm (or cool depending on which hemisphere you reside in).

It’s Week 3 of the Heart of Christmas blog hop for the AWH Team. Hope everyone is doing well and getting into some crafting time and being inspired weekly by the Christmas creations from the rest of the team! So for this week I have another two cards where I have used the Classic Cloche bundle which includes photopolymer stamps and die sets from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! July-December mini catalogue. I’ve always loved the dome wonderlands of miniature scenes particularly winter ones (even though we don’t get any snow in Melbourne at all!). I have been inspired by some previous creations from team members to create standard easel cards for today. First I stamped the Cloche in Smoky Slate ink onto Basic White card stock. The next stamp I used was the little snow capped village with the church which has three layers of stamping but I’ve just used two. Of course Stampin’ Up’s Stamparatus makes it so easy to align the stamp within the cloche and stamp again in Smoky Slate ink. The next layer was stamped in VersaMark as I wanted this layer to be embossed in White using the embossing powder. I made several of these to use for other cards. To build the Cloche scene I cut some Christmas trees in several different green card stock colours (and cut many to use for other cards) and placed them within the scene. The other layer I needed was ‘the base’ made up of Whisper White and Silver mirror foil die cut pieces. Now to build the easel card base I just cut the Basic White A4 sheet in half and scored at 10.5cm and then scored again at 7.25cm on the long side. The other card stock/DSP layers in order from the bottom include: 1x Evening Evergreen 14.5cm x 10cm 1x Peaceful Place DSP 14cm x 9.5cm 1x Smoky Slate (cut to fit around the next DSP die cut layer) 1x Peaceful Place DSP cut using scalloped die from Stitched So Sweetly die set All card/paper layers were adhered with tear adhesive and the cloche, base and trees using dimensionals. The inside of the card has been decorated with the sentiment from the Classic Cloche stamp set and cut using a die from the In Blooms die set. Once in Basic White and also in Evening Evergreen and adhered with dimensionals to make the card stand. I’ve added more Christmas trees and left over DSP to the card inside as well. The second card is another easel card but done in a landscape design. Similar layers but instead the large background layers have been cut in half to fit the panels of the Basic White card stock base. The cloche is built the same way onto the lovely Tidings of Christmas DSP from the current 2021-22 Annual Catalogue. The inside sentiment from Holly Jolly Wishes is adhered to dimensionals to make the card stand. Please head on to the next participant for more inspiration if you haven’t already done so, the talented Caroline Manwaring If at anytime you find a broken link please head to the blog of this week’s host of The Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop, Sharon Davern and she will have the list of all those participating. Have a fabulous week ahead everyone and thank you for stopping by and participating in our team blog hop.
