Chef Aaron Robins gives the Valley a new crown jewel
Race goers who enjoyed Flemington's Oaks Day will be swapping champagne for berocca today. The Melbourne racecourse faced wild weather and it looked like a tornado hit by the end of the day.
Oak Alley Plantation Print of Original Watercolor 11 x 14 Listed is an "Oak Alley Plantation" art print, which is a reproduction of my original watercolor artwork. Oak Alley, a 40 minute drive south of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is considered the crown jewel of antebellum plantation homes. What makes this plantation site so remarkable are the avenue of majestic live oaks, 28 to be precise, that leads to the grand mansion which also has 28 Doric design columns surrounding the house. If you see any plantation on the River Road, this is one not to miss. It is amazing to climb the stairs, walk out on the gallery and view the majestic oak avenue from above! It is so remarkable in architecture and landscape planning that it will take your breath away! George Washington well planned his home and grounds, but nothing compares to what a French settler did when he planted those trees. It is truly romantic! This print is signed and dated on front and has the title on the back. It is printed on a heavy card paper in mat white. The print measures 11 x 14 inches with a half inch border on all sides. This print will easily fit an 11 x 14 inch standard frame. Shipped with care in a plastic sleeve between two flat, sturdy card boards with tracking information. An artist statement and bio will be included. Watermark does not appear on the print. Copyright does not transfer with sale of this print. Thanks for browsing Dixielandart! About the artist: Kristi Jones was raised by artistic parents, both having art degrees. Her father has placed (numerous times) in the top tenth percentile in state and federal duck stamp art contests, and her mother has sold work at a local gallery. Kristi was President of the Art Club her senior year of high school. She studied art at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts (NOAFA), and is also self-taught. She has sold work at local shows and galleries, and has exhibited in shows in New Orleans and in northwest Caddo Parish, including Centenary College's Meadows Museum of Art and Artspace in downtown Shreveport. In 2015, she was commissioned to create 29 paintings for the new University Medical Center of New Orleans.
