I see this recurring motif in art deco, of a lady walking her dogs, or Diana hunting with her hounds. Does anybody know why it was a thing?
The Metropolitan Museum of Art has many artefacts that held me captive during my three visits there, but none more so than the wonderful examples of ceramic art from all ages. Being a ceramicist myself I looked in awe at works from the stone age right through to modern times. Perfect porcelain shapes and brilliant glazes perfected by skilled craftsmen.
