All of our fireplaces are carved from solid English limestone. This listing is for our Bolection surround carved from Bath stone. Bath stone has a finely grained consistency and is a creamy white colour with occasional grey shell. The stone, formed 150 million years ago under a shallow, tropical sea that covered Bath and the Cotswold's, is made from tiny fossilised crustaceans. They can appear as fossils in the stone, along with quartz veins. These features are beautiful and make each fireplace unique. This listing is for our standard sized Bolection surround, carved in Bath stone, with an opening of 800mm H x 800mm W. Every fireplace is made to measure, so if you require a different size, please do send us a message and we are happy to send over a drawing and a quote. Hearths and chambers are available separately.
