About A House of My Own Winner of the PEN Center USA Literary Award for Creative Nonfiction • From the celebrated bestselling author of The House on Mango Street: “This memoir has the transcendent sweep of a full life.” — Houston Chronicle From Chicago to Mexico, the places Sandra Cisneros has lived have provided inspiration for her now-classic works of fiction and poetry. But a house of her own, a place where she could truly take root, has eluded her. In this jigsaw autobiography, made up of essays and images spanning three decades — and including never-before-published work — Cisneros has come home at last. Written with her trademark lyricism, in these signature pieces the acclaimed author of The House on Mango Street and winner of the 2019 PEN/Nabokov Award for Achievement in International Literature shares her transformative memories and reveals her artistic and intellectual influences. Poignant, honest, and deeply moving, A House of My Own is an exuberant celebration of a life lived to the fullest, from one of our most beloved writers.

This parmesan crusted tofu is inspired by one of my favorite meals before going vegan, the parmesan crusted chicken with lemon chardonnay butter sauce from BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. Tofu is coated in a parmesan breadcrumb mixture and fried until golden, juicy, and perfectly crisp. It’s then topped with the most delicious and creamy lemon butter sauce! Serve with mashed potatoes and your favorite side of veggies, and you’ve got a restaurant-worthy meal right in the comfort of your own home!

In my home, these German Pancakes are comfort food. My mother, who was born and raised in Southern Germany (Bavaria) served these pancakes to us. Now, my own son enjoys memories of his "Oma" serving these to him, when he was a little kid. Traditionally, we liked to fill the the pancakes with strawberry jam or homemade lemon curd. Sometimes I simply dust these pancakes with powdered sugar and lemon juice. I make extra pancakes, because they reheat so well in the microwave.

How I Quit My Job 5 Years Ago to Flip Flea Market Stuff Full-Time It's been five years since I quit my job to flip flea market stuff full-time! When we first started full-time, we pretty much got thrown into it (we'll share more about that later!). Getting backed in a corner to make a decision about how I'm going to support my family was a tough decision when it happened. So here's the question I've been asked a lot after 5 years of flipping full-time. Do I have regrets? The answer? No way! Let's just say, it's been amazing

This incense reminds me of the smell of a Spice Cake baking in the oven. It has a cinnamon/nutmeg base that is just enough without being overpowering. Being that is does have cinnamon, I will only be selling this as incense, not as an oil since cinnamon on the skin is not a pleasant feeling. It is however, very cleansing. It is also good for spellworkings concerning money, abundance, and just smells sooo good. (just make sure to wash your hands after handling it; you dont want to learn the hard way that cinnamon based incenses will make your skin burn; I know; it was a lesson I learned when I began to make my own incenses over 30 years ago. I have begun to take orders for my incenses in bulk. However, it will require you to please contact me first to be sure I have plenty in stock. I try to always keep atleast 150 of every scent I make, dried and ready to ship but especially my fast movers; its not always possible. If I do not have enough dried, you will either need to order a smaller batch for now, or wait about a week to 10 days usually for me to make a batch, and get it dried for you. Some of my people like to finish the drying process themselves; once I get it dried enough to ship. Let me know in a convo or message if that is acceptable; it sure makes your entire home smell awesome while just spread out in old mason jars or coffee cups (and you dont need to light any). As I type this, I have well over 700 hundred sticks of fresh incense drying in my home and the smell in here is amazing. Most incenses sold on the market are made using either charcoal, or cow dung; yes; dung. I make my own incenses and have done so for well over 20 years and counting. Once you use handmade incenses, you will never go back to cheap, imported stuff. I sell mine in bundles of 13 joss-sticks aka incense sticks. Each stick will burn for about an hour. I can make as many as needed. Each bundle will have 13 (sometimes a wee bit more of my joss-sticks. Order as many as you need. Happy to ship to Canada and my friends in the UK (with some help with currency and mailing costs) Hard to post suggested rates since this will be a learning experience as I send them out, please bear with me on this. I ship out using First Class Mail, unless you decide on Priority Mailing. Happy to combine orders. As shown in the pictures, I am constantly making more incenses and have it drying everywhere, every full moon. I also now have sample "paddles" so those who are interested can get a good idea of how any scent will smell before making a purchase. Just let me know what you are interested in, and I will be happy to include sample paddles with any order, or convo me and I can send out some paddles with a self addressed envelope and a dollar to cover my costs. Many save the scent paddles and once fully dry; use them as bookmarkers, stash them in special boxes, dresser drawers; anywhere some good smelling scent is welcomed. Thank you for stopping by, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions and I'll do my best to assist.
