This cushion cover is made to match the flower power blanket, and it is made for a cushion fill of 40x40cm. However, by using other sizes of hooks plus the possibility of making thicker borders by adding rows, you can customise your cushion cover to almost any size. The cushion front is longer than the back, and it folds on the top in a flap to be joined with buttons in the back. The technique is interlocking crochet, and I used under 450g plus 4 buttons. Full instructions on the technique, on how to start, cushion charts, row description stitch by stitch and assembly instructions with photos are included.

For years I doodled in my school books, specially in the ones with squared paper. Some where so large and detailed, that I wonder how I ever learned anything. They came back to mind when I found this drawing in one of my kids’ books, which inspired me to design this blanket. I am really happy with the result, and I hope you enjoy making this! The technique is interlocking crochet. The pattern comes with detailed instructions on this technique. My finished blanket, using Scheepjes Catona (22x50gr rust and 20x50g white) and a 3mm hook is approximately 1,20 x 1,70m. It can be done with any hook or yarn, just note that the size will change accordingly. However, the proportions to the figure will stay the same.

Love the colours and the whimsy of this piece. Genus Imaginus - A Collection of Imaginary Flora Fibre artist Carolyn Flood creates original contemporary designs in thread. Her bold images of idiosyncratic flowers catch your attention from a distance, and get even more interesting as you get closer. Seductively tactile compositions on cotton and silk fabrics entail both machine stitching and hand embroidery. With sensuous materials and sensual imagery, Carolyn Flood gives us flowers as they see themselves. November 15, 2009 - January 3, 2010
