Dear Readers! A few weeks ago I got a Christmas parcel from Nina who owns the wonderful blog "At the Periwinkles". As soon as I opened the parcel, Tanya and Munchie left their cottage to help me unbox it. There were so many sweets and nicely wrapped gifts! "The sweets are for me me!" Munchie was quick to claim. The first gift Tanya unwrapped was this cute bar of soap. I wish you could smell it! It smells like Christmas! Tanya and Munchie oohed and aahed when they unwrapped the next gift. Isn´t it cute this miniature baking scene? I love it! What will it be in this small blue box? Three smiling pumpkins! They look so funny! Look at this mini advent calendar. The windows are tiny and the pictures behind them are adorable. It´s SO cute! Tanya is reading Nina´s card and Munchie is admiring Nina´s drawing skills. She´s really good at arts and crafts, don´t you think so? Thank you Nina for brightening up my day with your lovely parcel and for your kindness and friendship. You helped me spark my interest in miniatures and Sylvanians again! This beautiful candle wreath is a handmade gift from one of my first graders´ grandma. It smells like a walk in the woods. Hugs!
Within 24 hours, the Camp Fire has burned more than 20,000 acres, and has virtually destroyed the town of Paradise.
What stillness brings us is the path of liberation from linear time, attachments to thought and emotion, and the need to do something.
Each individual has a different style when it comes to gift-giving and what they like to receive and how they like to receive it. Over the last year, I've spoken with hundreds of different people about not only what they like to get, but how they feel about giving gifts in general. ISTJs have been

Yesterday The A.V. Club alerted me to this wonderful Twitter account Paperback Paradise whose motto is “The world’s #1 used book store.” Much like LiarsTown USA or Dangerous Minds’ pal Cris Shapan’s work—Paperback Paradise offers up an amusing alternate universe of photoshopped delights. Some of these are truly fucking funny. If you dig what you see here, you can follow Paperback Paradise on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. via The A.V. Club

Most people my age, here in Holland at least, will agree that paradise must surely be situated in Sweden. We know this because we saw series on tv like 'Seacrow Island' and read Astrid Lindgren's books, illustrated by Ilon Wikland (1930). While Ilon Wikland herself fled Finland as a child, to get away from World War II (and her divorced parents), the healthy, red-cheeked children that Wikland draws, happily and freely roam the rural surroundings of Bullerby. That's the life!
