I’m not up with the times culturally speaking. Like the other night, while we were watching the Olympics (which is the first network TV I’ve watched in a LONG time) a commercial came on for a show cal
One day, I was in a friend’s house and she was making Embutido when I arrived. I watched her as she makes it. While she was in the process of making it, I was thinking how does it taste? My mom never made it, so, I did not have any idea. There are commercialized frozen Embutido available in stores but we never tried getting one. I don’t even know why. When my friend’s done with the dish, I finally got to try it and I loved it. From that moment, I am really eager to make my own, too. It took years since I tried cooking one. I still have to search through the internet because I can’t anymore remember what my friend told me regarding the ingredients. I found a good recipe from Panlasang Pinoy. I love to fry the steamed Embutido and it tastes really good with rice and ketchup or sweet chili sauce. 😀 Please follow and like us:
Hello! My name is Brianna and I own Elegantly Simple Organizing. I work with my clients one on one to help bring peace into their home. Life is hard, I believe your home should be a place where you drop your load at the door and walk into your Oasis. When you have a lot on your plate cleaning your home can feel overwhelming. This list allows you to keep track of what has been cleaned and what needs to be cleaned. Don't fill pressure to complete it all in one day. Take your time. If you get easily locked into cleaning the whole home but you don't have the time focus on just one room or set a time and only clean for 10, 15 or 30 minutes. Once the timer is done then move on to your next todo. Don't get overwhelmed.

MANY OF THE RECIPES IN THIS BOOK CAME TO ME IN EXCHANGE FROM FRIENDS ALL OVER THE WORLD, AND HAVE BECOME PART OF MY OWN COOKERY REPERTOIRE. WHEN THE ROUTINE OF RUNNING HOUSE AND OFFICE BECOMES IRKSOME, I GET OUT MY RECIPE FILE AND PULL OUT ONE OR MORE THESE RECIPES THAT I HAVE COLLECTED.I HAVE TRIED IN MY OWN COOKBOOK HERE, TO COMPILE ONE THAT WILL HELP THE BEGINNING COOK AND BE OF CONSTANT INSPIRATION TO THE WOMAN WHO MUST PLAN AND PRODUCE THREE OR MORE MEALS A DAY AND MEALS FOR ENTERTAINING. AMY VANDERBILT (FROM THE INTRODUCTION) {HISTORY} Amy Vanderbilt's Complete Cookbook is an 800-page collection of recipes that followed her wildly successful Complete Book of Etiquette which was published in 1952. It took all those years between 1952 and 1961 to write this cookbook, as Amy is nothing but thorough in her work. As a consummate home entertainer, a world traveler, a wife and a mom, Amy loved cooking but also understood that it could be a daunting, boring and tedious task at times too. In her cookbook, she set out to create imaginative dishes that would inspire the spirit. Nutritious feasts that would fuel the body. And authentic international meals that would spark the curious. Here you'll find a plethora of interesting recipes for things like Coconut Tea Loaf Bread, Salmon Pie, Baked Fondue, Floating Islands, Batter-Fried Sardines, Paris Bistro Veal Chops, Pumpkin Chiffon Tarts, King of Sweden Soup, Celery Au Gratin, Sweet Potato Souffle, etc, etc, etc. As a world-renowned and beloved etiquette expert, Amy shared thousands of meals with thousands of people from all cultures through her work, so she knew what people liked to eat and how they liked to eat it. In all those adventures of eating and entertaining, she never lost her sense of curiosity for the creative ways that food and flavors could be brought together. This cookbook represents that excitement most, and will appeal to home cooks today, who share similar a similar sense of wonder. There is also a special visual surprise tucked inside this cookbook as well - the illustrations of Andy Warhol. Before he became the famous pop-culture icon known around the globe, he was just starting out in his career - simply known as Andrew Warhol - illustrator for hire, when this cookbook was produced. There's no flair for the dramatic in his style not yet defined. Instead, here there are technical drawings of cake pans and produce, dinner table settings and fruit displays, cuts of meat and bowls of vegetables. It's not often that vintage cookbooks can be appreciated for both their food content and the early merit of an iconic artist but this one wonderfully combines both, giving readers a true sense of midcentury kitchen joy as it unfolded for both cooks and artists. Elaina was 13 when her adoptive father passed away, leaving her alone in the world. Or so she had thought. While cleaning out supplies from old cabinets she came across a letter and ring that had her name in it. The beautiful ring happened to have word Divine etched onto its side. The letter told Elaina that she would never be alone as she had an older twin sister, Divine, who had been separated from her at birth and that she was to wait for the right time as her sister was going to be the one to come find her. Scared of the possibility that her sister would come to her residence and give up on her after not finding her there, Elaina never left her house. When her neighbors inquired about her sudden shut in, she would only reply with "I'm waiting for my Divine." Quiet, fragile Elaina resisted and waited patiently, counting each day, each month, then eventually each year, that passed. Not long after her 18th birthday, Elaina's wait was over and her sister finally came for her. Divine was the mother figure Elaina had wanted for long and now she rejoiced. Our Elaina Ring embodies the strength and resilience of Elaina in a replicated version of the ring Elaina owned. Wearing this ring will make you will feel just as calm and patient as Elaina herself was.

Can we talk a minute about things I’m feeling these days? One: Pistachios. I bought this huge bag of them in the shell because we have these friends that always put out pistachios when we go to their house for dinner, and it’s super fun because it’s, like, both a snack and an activity and something to do with your hands when you’re not quite ready for that second pre-dinner beer — except for I’m currently in my own house on my zero-th beer trying to write this blog post and snack at the same time and all I want is to ... The gallbladder. Such a tiny little thing who can cause such big problems when it is unhappy. My own less than pleasant run in with a rather cranky gallbladder inspired me to crochet one so I had something physical to remind me of that experience. Plus, this one will not rot like the one they might have taken out of you. This gallbladder is crocheted in cotton yarn, stuffed with polyfill and has a few glass beads in it to replicate the stones that may or may not have sent your gallbladder into a pain inducing tizzy. It is about 5 inches long and 1.5 inches on the widest part. It is made in a smoke free and pet friendly (woof...no meow) home. Please send me a convo if you have any questions and have a great day!

When you have a digital porfolio, it is really kind of hard to keep it all organized. It really is. Stuff ends up getting all over the place since there is no one best way to do it. I post at least…
Ever have one of those days when your thoughts seem to be haunting you? Lately, those days have been frequent for me. I feel as though God has been working on me about confidence and my identity in Christ, but my own mind likes to self-sabotage. Life is changing rapidly for me, as I am finishing college and will be getting a real “adult” job. The class and internship work is piling up, and now I know what my friends meant by the term senioritis. All of this is a recipe for stress and opportunity, and that also means failure. And I hate failing. I really hate failing. As a perfectionist, I struggle with anxiety and self-esteem issues. But I know I’m not alone. There are so many people out there who struggle with anxiety and depression. As I’ve been praying to God about all of this, there is one word He has laid on my heart. Surrender. Surrender is the key to freedom, and it is also transforming. If you’re struggling with negative or haunting thoughts, then I urge you to keep reading about what surrender has taught me. Surrendering Our Broken Pieces I’ve been a serious Christian for a few years now, and I always thought that surrender just meant giving all of my plans and dreams to the Lord–to let Him have control of my future. But surrender is so much more than that. Yes, we should surrender our plans and our desires to the Lord. His plans are better than anything we could ever dream of. And when we trust in God, He will lead us on the most amazing journey ever. But there’s a lot more to surrender than just giving up the good parts of our lives. Pain, shame, sin, and fear. These are the things the enemy wants us to hold onto. This is how the devil keeps us in bondage. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:4-5 NIV) When Jesus took up the cross and died for our sins, He also bore all of our shame and pain. All of the things that haunt us and hold us back from a great life are things He died to free us from. Christ died to nail our broken pieces to the cross. And He left an empty grave behind in order to fill the emptiness in our lives. (Like this post? SUBSCRIBE BY EMAIL for more!) The Transformation of Surrender When we get stuck in our pain or fears, then we get wrapped up in ourselves. We start to feel bad about our lives, and then an evil menace seeps into our hearts. Pride. I know that when I have a bad day and think of all the mistakes I’ve made, I miss out on opportunities to do good things for others. When we get too wrapped up in ourselves, then we cannot fully serve the Lord. It’s the enemy’s trap, but we have the keys to freedom. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV) When we choose to follow Christ, we become new creations! We can surrender our pain and mistakes and choose to live a new life with God. None of us are perfect, and that is why Jesus died for us. This is what Easter is all about. The blood of Jesus covers us, and His grace is bigger than any of our mistakes. Each new day with God is a fresh start, and we can always choose to move forward in victory. But it all starts with surrender. Thanks for reading! I hope you have a blessed Good Friday and Easter. Crockpot French Onion Soup is so good, and I cannot believe I have waited so long to make it! I will not make that mistake again. I am one who loves a good bowl of French Onion Soup when I am dining out, especially from LaRosa's Pizzeria (a local franchise in Cincinnati). I think they have the best, but I may be biased.
