The Impressionistic style is a favorite of mine so far. I think that it was the first big step away from painting portraits and into a time of painting subjects that focused on weather and amusemen…

Alice Neel was one of the great American painters of the twentieth century. She was also a pioneer among women artists. A painter of people, landscape and still life, Neel was never fashionable or in step with avant-garde movements. Sympathetic to the expressionist spirit of northern Europe and Scandinavia and to the darker arts of Spanish painting, she painted in a style and with an approach distinctively her own.
This wonderful towered eclectic victorian boasts a number of styles ranging from Italianate to Stick Style and is beautifully preserved

Prague, Czech Republic Feb 2021: PLEASE DO NOT REPOST THIS TO SOCIAL MEDIA SITES WITHOUT PERMISSION! I am not interested in getting hounded by people on social media. I am not interested in gaining followers. You may enjoy this picture on Flickr and contact me directly if you want permission for any other use. This is the only time I've made a special effort for a photo on this trip. If you have ever been to Prague, you have probably been to the Charles Bridge; if you've ever been to the Charles Bridge, you've probably seen the countless vendors selling images (purporting to be hand made) of the bridge itself. Most depict lonesome figures in the fog or snow with the gas lamps burning. They're really quite stunning, but there was no way I was going to buy one of those. Instead, I decided to wake up at 6am to go down to the bridge, hoping it would be free of tourists and foggy. It was foggy and relatively free of tourists. The only folks down there in the predawn light were - you guessed it - other photographers. I had to clone a couple out in this shot and had to leave a couple as well. Mostly, I got what I wanted. --Of the Air Photography--

Some of the best night time views you can get anywhere in the world, with the amazing Aurora Borealis included. To have a beautiful Finnish sky is not enough, in the Levin Iglut, you get to see it at any time of the day and night, with unobstructed views, through the glass ceilings of the Igloos. The following is a brief description from the Hotel: "Each of our igloos feature electrically heated non-fogging glass, air conditioning, a small kitchen, shower and toilet, a wi-fi connection and motorized beds, which you can adjust to the desired position for watching the northern lights or sleeping." Plus meals are served in the main building. Simple Architecture that makes the best of these cosy, comfortable looking rooms, a real treat from the standard hotel room, don't you think?
