Enkele fotoliefhebbers kwamen daarom op het idee om de Comedy Wildlifde Photography Awards in het leven te roepen. Dat resulteerde in maar liefst 2.500 inzendingen. Tom Sullam en Paul Johnson-Hicks, de twee juryleden, hebben daaruit een selectie gemaakt. Hun criterium voor de selectie is duidelijk: “Wanneer we een foto zien, moeten we onmiddellijk luidop kunnen lachen”, zegt Sullam. De winnaars worden in september bekendgemaakt. De hoofdprijs bedraagt een geldsom van 2.230 euro, een cameratas, een tegoedbon voor foto-afdrukken en een handgemaakte trofee.
