Hannah Flowers is a self-taught artist, born 1989 in Tasmania, Australia, and currently residing in Scotland, United Kingdom. She lives in a small cottage by the forest and sea where she can draw inspiration from the nature surrounding her. Working in oils using the indirect methods of the renaissance she is fascinated by depicting beauty, both real and imagined. Often using grotesque or humorous undertones and hidden details to add dimension to the narratives she weaves. Hannah is a firm believer in art for arts sake- not feeling the need to imbue her work with any moral or current event commentary, but rather creating a unique atmosphere for the viewer to enjoy. She draws inspiration from many different time periods and styles, leaving her paintings with a sense of being just outside of time and place.

Our body and soul demands restoration and seclusion. We wish to lose our sense of time and slow down our pace of life. We desire a place with solitude, tranquility, and peace — a cabin overlooking the mountains, a small hut beside a river, or just somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
Carcassone's defenses enable us to imagine what medieval siege warfare was like; they are a veritable catalog of the architectural ingenuity that went into resisting attack. There are drawbridges and fixed bridges with portcullises, towers with projecting "beaks" or open on the inside, protected at the top by fencing and at the base by flared footings, curtain walls with a sentry-walk behind the crenellations, watch-turrets, arrow-slits, machicolations... Even if the attackers succeeded in breaking in, they could be pinned down by covering fire.
How do they live like this
