Bring some excitement to your Shakespeare unit with these insult activity cards. With 100 different insults (and definitions!), these cards can be used in a variety of ways. Put students in groups, giving them a bunch of insults cards with instructions to complete as many different insults as possible. Have students randomly draw two or three insult cards from a hat to make their own insults. This 11-page PDF file includes a one-page instructions/ideas sheet on how to use the cards. Since these cards include definitions, ideas on exploring the words' meaning and origin are included. These activities can be used at the beginning of or throughout your Shakespeare unit.
