Dark, surreal and curious Holly Roberts's work traverses graffiti, photography, painting and illustration creating a unique mood, mixing media as she mixes complex ideas and emotions. ...Roberts excels by rewarding us with her sensuous presentations of complex ideas that switch on our senses and logical facilities. Her slow-time pictures extend the most vital experience of photography, the interaction period between the subject and the maker, to express potential realities that comprise human consciousness and ask for a studied examination. Hopefully, Roberts s fingerprints, that critical juncture where nature, knowledge, and knower intersect, will lead us to more carefully notice how vast, interrelated, and astonishing our world really is. A house form is high in the visual vocabulary of Patti Roberts-Pizzuto. Patti's works are calm, created over time layering papers with painting and hand stitching.
We've noticed green kitchens on the rise (see Trend Alert: 10 Favorite, Time-Tested Dark Green Kitchens), but for some reason, the color is rarely seen in
We are delighted to present four new monoprints and recent collages by Clare Woods. New monotypes and recent collages by Woods, featuring interiors, still life, landscape and portraiture, depict a time of mass image consumption and a world that treats banality and disaster in the same way. Drawing inspiration from photographs found from diverse sources such as books, magazines, the internet and the artist’s own images, Woods is preoccupied with the human body and its environment. She reinterprets the found imagery, cropping or repositioning the subjects so that they begin to teeter on the edge of legibility and figuration. Having initially trained as a sculptor, Woods’ understanding of sculptural forms underpin her pictorial work. The new works in this Online Viewing Room explore the themes of fragility, mortality and otherness; the delicate borders that exist between sickness and health, cruelty and humanity, and life and death.
Peaceful evening everyone 🤍

I am starting to feel better now and am happily pinning away to my Pinterest boards, especially the board I have for miniature cottages. I am stashing away ideas for my dollhouse just as I do for my full size house. I am continually amazed at the creativity and talent of miniaturists. Just look at this sweet little kitchen nook! I studied printed textiles at Glasgow School of Art and went on to do an MA in mixed media textiles at London's Royal College of Art. London is where I am now based. I began my career working on textile designs for the fashion industry. Then a mural for the fashion boutique Paul & Joe in London led to futher commissions in private houses and other commercial projects. I have also designed fabric & wallpaper for Lewis & Wood, Sandersons, Zoffany, Mulberry Home & GP & J Baker. In 2010, I was elected as a member of the Art Workers Guild, among whose founding members was William Morris. In Autumn 2020, I launched my first collection of wallpapers at Hamilton Weston Ltd. My decorative murals have been based mostly on the natural world. I sometimes manipulate trees and flowers to make a room appear bigger. If a more relaxed setting is required, I can use looser brushwork. "I would describe my style as treading a line between traditional and modern..I'm very inspired by historical houses and like to imagine how their atmospheric decorative schemes would work in a contemporary setting.' Her work, which ranges from delicate depictions of flora and fauna to bold abstract pattern, can take from five days to a month to execute.' Sometimes I'm given a colour palette to work from; otherwise, I base colours on furniture, lighting and flooring already in the room. It takes time to get this right. If the subject matter is more neat and graphic, it has to be planned carefully, but if it is more natural, the painting can evolve organically and often benefits from this approach." @flora.roberts
