Full size vintage pattern from 1930 to make these 11 adorable Dolly Dresses and 1 bathing suit. These are old transogram patterns which were used to teach children how to sew. They're simple and can be made by even the beginning sewer, however the instructions are minimal since way back then, most women learned how to sew when they were children and had guidance from a parent or grandparent. There's no size given for the patterns but after measuring them they appear to fit small dolls measuring from 6" to 8" such as Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls, Ginny, Muffie, Kish Riley, Madame Alexander 8" dolls - Wendy and Alexander-kins, Ginger, Marcie, Lingerie Lou - and similar dolls of that size. Measuring one of the dolls, the pattern measures 3-1/2" from shoulder to dress hem but, as with all patterns, you should measure your own doll in order to get a correct fit and adjust the pattern accordingly if necessary. There are no patterns for any of the hats shown in the photos. Really a cute pattern. Instructions are not real detailed assuming basic garment construction is already known. When this pattern was created, back in the 1930s most people learned how to sew at a very early age, with their mothers and grandmothers there to guide and help them learn. This simple lace top is a great summery choice, with a lacy skirt & eyelets at the waistline and edging the bodice. If you’ve never had experience knitting lace, this is a good first project. You will quickly recognize & even memorize the simple repeated pattern, which creates the “vine lace” design. You can choose to finish the top with crocheted ties or shoulder straps, and for variety, weave satin ribbon through the eyelets of the top and finish with a bow. The items may fit a variety of 7-8 and 11-12 inch dolls, but they are specifically fitted to Helen Kish’s dolls like Riley and Bethany. Supplies Lightweight crochet cotton (US size 10). I used Caron’s Grandma’s Best & DMC Traditions. I have also used laceweight yarn, such as “Shadow” from knitpicks.com Knitting Needles sized 00000, 000 and 0 (1, 1.5 & 2 mm) yarn needle Crochet hook, US size 10 (around 1.15-1.5 mm) Gauge * With size 000 needles in stockinette stitch, 23 stitches & 33-36 rows in a 2 x 2 inch (5.1 cm) square.

This is "Ship Shape," a crochet pattern that I designed for a 7-8" child doll, such as Riley and friends by Kish. You should probably be able to use this same pattern for Tiny Betsy McCall and Tiny Ann Estelle by Tonner, dollhouse Madeline, skinny Ginny, and the mini American Girl dolls. It is a winter coat and hat set, in a nautical style. Skill level = easy. (This pattern calls for #5 crochet cotton, which can be difficult to find in your local craft store. A good online source is Herrschners.com. You may also be able to find it here on Etsy or on eBay.) Only the pattern is for sale; the actual outfits, dolls, and props are unavailable. No shipping cost, as you can download the PDF file from Etsy immediately after purchase. I am now including 2 PDFs with each pattern, one with pictures and one without, so you can download both and still have a choice of which one you would like to print out. Feel free to sell any items you make from my patterns, but please do not resell the patterns themselves or make them available online. They are copyrighted. I have created many of my own patterns that have been published in various magazines (Crochet World, Quick & Easy Crochet, Barbie Bazaar, and Dollhouse Miniatures). I have had 2 crochet books published: "Twentieth Century Fashion Doll Collection" (2006) and "Playtime Jackets" (2011).

Our first photo session since our world was turned upside down six weeks ago :o( - hubby was rushed to hospital with serious breathing difficulties to find he had extensive clots in both lungs and the pulmonary artery!!! It was a very close call but with the care of a wonderful medical team he pulled through and after a two week stay in hospital he is now recovering slowly at home. Phew this really came out of nowhere and knocked us all sideways, but the dark clouds are lifting and I now feel like I can start clicking my knitting needles again :o) Aran jacket from a pattern by Becky Colvin and sneaker-cut jeans from a pattern by Silkspike Dolls
