Color Analysis is all about determining the colors that suit your skin, hair and eye tones. There are many articles about this on the Internet if you want to research the topic for yourself in more detail than I have. My personal favorite can be found at The Chic Fashionista. The most commonly used system is the 12 colour seasons system, which consists of 12 categories based on the seasons Summer, Winter, Autumn and Spring sub divided into warm, cool, clear, soft, deep and light. Here is a summary of each of the seasons and what they mean: Note: Many people of Asian or African decent get confused as to which season they fall under, so it's important to think about your depth of colour based on what's average for your nationality. While many will fall into the Deep Winter or Deep Autumn categories, not everyone does, so take this into account when looking at these charts. Also, I am not an expert in this field, nor am I professionally qualified, I am only posting information researched from elsewhere in a format that's easy to understand. Deep - Winter: Dark hair and eyes with cool skin tone - Autumn: Dark hair and eyes with a warm skin tone Light - Summer: Light hair and eyes with a cool skin tone - Spring: Light hair and eyes with a warm skin tone Clear - Winter: Dark hair, bright contrasting eyes (usually blue or blue-green) and pale cool-toned skin - Spring: Light or dark hair, bright contrasting eyes (usually blue or blue-green) and pale warm-toned skin Soft - Summer: Mousy hair colour, cool skin-tone, any eye color - Autumn: Mousy hair colour, warm skin-tone, eyes will probably be blue or green, but may be any color Warm - Spring: Light-Medium coloring with obvious warm undertones for skin, hair and eyes - Autumn: Dark-Medium coloring with obvious warm undertones for skin, hair and eyes Cool - Summer: Light-Medium coloring with obvious cool undertones for skin, hair and eyes - Winter: Dark-Medium coloring with obvious cool undertones for skin, hair and eyes How to determine which season you fall into? The easiest way to determine your season should be to first identify your skin tone. You can do this by holding a piece of white paper under your skin in natural light. If you look bright and alert, you probably have a cool skin tone, if you look pale, grey or washed out then you most likely have a warm skin tone. If you can't tell then you may have a neutral skin tone and your hair and eye colors may be a better indicator of your season. When considering your season, you should use your natural hair colour (if your hair is dyed, cover it with a white towel). Your coloring will change slightly as you age, so for best results base your coloring on your natural hair color as a child aged 4 to 8 years if at all possible (a photograph may be helpful). For some people their season will be quite obvious, for others it may be more tricky. Many people flow between two or more seasons so don't be surprised if you don't fit one exactly. Also, don't fall for the common misconception that because you have blue eyes you can't be a warm season, or because you have brown hair you can't be a light season. It's your dominant features you are looking at and the descriptions provided are just the averages of that season. As a brief guide, if you have a mousy hair color you are most likely a soft autumn or summer; if you have dark hair and dark eyes you are probably a deep winter or autumn, if you have light hair and eyes you are probably a light spring or summer, warms and cools generally have medium hair and eyes with obvious warm or cool undertones and clear's tend to have contrasting tones of really pale skin with dark hair and light, but bright eyes (Your skin tone will be your best indicator of whether you are a spring or winter). Cool and Brilliants can be further broken down into three varieties: Cool Winter (flowing into Cool & Delicate), Clear Winter (flowing into Warm & Fresh), and Deep Winter (sharing deep, dark depths with Warm & Rich). *(icy describes a pure color tinted with white, it is not muddied with gray or other undertones like a…
