If there ever was the PERFECT Sugar Creek client, it was Mike & Brooke. From the very get-go, they wanted all things Sugar Creek & were our biggest fans before we ever had a chance to schedule their consultation. Their day was incredibly special with lots of family and friends sharing in & celebrating their love for one another. Talk about THE perfect day to kickstart their new family legacy story - it was this one.
A sweetheart selection of our U.S native Sisyrinchium angustifolium, Blue Note Blue-Eyed Grass delights with many vivid blue flowers with bright gold centers from late spring into early summer. Its fine, semi-evergreen, Iris-like foliage always looks neat making it ideal for edging. Flowers open in sun and close at night. The flowers are followed by large dangling seed pods. Although technically not a grass, it belongs to the Iris family of perennials, we list it with grasses and perennials due to its grass-like habit and leaf blades. Blue Note Blue-Eyed Grass matures to a pretty mound 12-18" tall and wide. Use Blue Note Blue Eyed Grass in perennial and grass beds, and rock gardens. Use to edge gardens or as a showy specimen in a small garden or container. After blooming, the plant can be tidied up by cutting back. Blue-Eyed Grass prefers moist, well-drained soils in full sun or part shade. Deer resistant, and tolerant of dry days. Plant in sun to part shade in soil that has been amended with compost or other organic matter. Keep well watered when the plant is getting established and when the plant is setting up buds and blooming. Although tolerant of drought, for best results give deep soakings during dry spells. 6" pot
