wow. i took a lot of pictures on our trip. and for once i'm actually going through them all. so be prepared... after the apple farm, we headed up to catch our train in conway, nh. and on the way i spotted the cutest little antique shop on the side of the road. my dad immediately flipped a U and headed back for me. i love that my dad will flip a U for just about anything. (jerky, slurpees, home depot Ü) i loved it. (mom you would have loved it too). i bought a few old children's books that were really cute. wishing i could have gotten a few more things... i even loved the old couple that owned the place. he came out and said, "you know it's better if you have people in your pictures! i'm a photographer too!" and then decided to show me almost every picture of an old deconstructing house down the road on his point-and-shoot he pulled out of his pocket. classic. back to catch the train. soph was really excited about this. she talked about the train all morning and said it was her favorite part of the weekend. Ü oh yeah, it was authentic. i found out about halfway through that we had the "upgraded" seats. we had to walk out of the train through the "coach" section and i noticed that our seats were definitely not like theirs. score! soph kept saying, "we go faster!?" it was kind of a slow ride. she pretty much adores her drampa rob. our view. the train stopped at a little "pumpkin patch" (it was more like a pile of pumpkins in a parking lot, but who's counting). it was next to a cute little cider mill. pipe loved trying to pick up all the heavy pumpkins. sophie had hers picked out pretty quick. she knew exactly what she was doing. that is... until she saw the sad little runt pumpkin with no stem. she swapped immediately and could not be talked out of it under any circumstances. what a soft-hearted girl. my dad got a major kick out of that. (see the death of her pumpkin here) the more substantial pumpkins piper and i picked out. stealing snacks with drampa on the ride back. the train was a hit. this all makes me so sad to be leaving next year. i wish we could make so many things traditions. ok break time. white mountains, covered bridges, and bed & breakfast up next.
