The Blakely Project- Glenview Homes (Features: Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room, Bedrooms, Basement) The Blakely Project was designed to feel inviting, comfortable and modern, but remains rooted with timeless, classic and traditional elements. Designed in collaboration with Glenview Homes, this project has been nominated for several GOHBA awards! Kitchen Pops of metallic light fixtures define the rooms and set the tone. The ebonized wood, flat panel doors in the kitchen are quite modern but are balanced with timeless materials such as the marble backsplash and warm wooden shelves. The kitchen was designed with an extended island and pantry to provide ample storage; this allowed us to get creative with open shelving flanking out the range hood. Furniture and decor pieces throughout the home are predominately from our shoppe, West of Main. Living Room / Dining Room The living room is delineated by one of our favourite area rugs. The down-filled sofa and drapes are pure linen and the space is accented by other natural materials and textiles. This, juxtaposed with the dark and moody dining area, creates a layered and traveled feel that is comforting and timeless. The sideboard is a hand-carved piece, tying in with the other organic materials and artistic elements such as the pattern in the fireplace. Bedrooms: Each bedroom was designed to have its own personality and colour palette while maintaining repetition of simple design elements throughout the home. This binds them together, creating a beautiful transition. Each room features unique light fixtures creating an ambience that is both cozy and stylish. Basement: The basement provides a space for families to gather and have fun together. The kitchenette design is simple and practical. The shaker doors add visual texture and the metallic tile reflects the natural light from the large windows. The white millwork maintains a light and airy feeling in the basement and, keeping in line with the rest of the house, we chose neutral furniture with organic shapes and layered textiles. The vintage Beni Ourain Moroccan rug is the final touch to up the level of coziness that basements often lack.
