"Sunset ii", watercolour painting, 7.5 x 11" SOLD This is the second sunset demo from my class on Wednesday morning. This time, I painted the clouds on dry, white paper, puddling in the colour, and then put the lower sky with the pale yellow in afterwards. When that was dry, I put in another layer in the lower sky of duller orange, leaving the bright yellow to shine underneath the clouds. The colours of the clouds are a bit brighter on this painting, because they were put on white paper instead of the yellow-orange of the previous post, but it was a bit more difficult to place in the sky colours around the cloud shapes. I think it is kind of interesting that both painting methods worked equally as well. Enjoy! To purchase this, or commission your own painting, please email me.

If you are a fan of the rains and happen to live in an area where it rains a fair bit, then we are sure that you have often looked out of the windows or the balcony only to be met with the sight of several people walking around carrying umbrellas. The sight may have often made you wish that you had the skill to set up a canvas and capture this sight on to a simple but enchanting painting. We are sure that you may have moved on to the next best thing, which is of clicking pictures of these scenario in front of you. Art using umbrellas will not have the grace that elegant wall painting ideas for your beloved home will have but they will surely be full of joy. I think that the title really gives a strong hint, as to what we are about to see. Russian Artist Igor Dubovoy, has had a passion for drawing and painting since a young age, he has never received any specific art education and has found his own way through this fantastic medium, Watercolor Paintings. This is an extract from Dubovoy's site: "I draw for my own pleasure. I like travelling and most subjects of my works are usually taken from the trips." As you will be able to see below, there are many different locations, mostly around Europe, or at least these are the ones that I happened to pick. With these paintings it's almost as if he is taking us with him, through his travels, so buckle up and enjoy the ride. Venetian Nook. Press the Image to Enlarge it. Tropea Italy. Easing myself back to painting after a week's holiday i wanted to return to familiar territory. I love foxes, they have wonderful amber eyes and a rich colour to work with, I can have fun while trying to capture their essence in a painting. I started with a relatively easy sketch , Then I can begin on the eye, these
Africa - How I love Thee!! A little while back, I created a series of water colour and ink African animal art, for one of my lovely art clients. This series was such a pleasure to work on and very close to my heart and also very close to my clients heart, as I created the series from their original photos from one of their many African adventures. Interested in a print of this lovely elephant? You can grab one HERE You can also check out the rest of my Art Gallery HERE Some art series details: This art series is actually quite large, close to a meter wide, so it was a job I worked on over quite a few weeks and became completely immersed in....well here are some more photos... These are the photos that I created the series from... Working on the wild dogs painting Up close and personal with wild dogs - So cute and slightly feral at the same time!! I'd say they would try gnawing your head off if you went in for a hug! Botswana wild dogs - The finished piece. Close up of the elephant art work piece...elephants have such amazing eyelashes, they have a mind of their own, and are so long! Proud Botswana elephant - The finished piece. Close up of my leopard artwork.....this lovely lady took quite a while to create - look at all those spots! Botswana leopard, basking in the afternoon sun - The finished piece. And last, the Botswana water buffalo - the finished piece. This guy had so much attitude, he was such a pleasure to draw/paint. I am looking forward to (when time allows) further creating a large series of African Animal paintings and drawings....I have so many amazing photos and memories from my own Adventures in Africa to draw from. It is definitely high on my to-do-list, so hopefully a bit later this year there will be news of an exhibition, I just need a month or two spare to create my series of what are sure to be masterpieces =) =) Till next blog, stay safe

Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the Scottish Highlands with our evocative print. This serene composition captures the essence of Portree Harbour, Isle of Skye, rendered in bold and sweeping expanses of colour that reflect the Color Field style's influence. The artwork invites you to experience the harbour's calm waters, with reflections casting a meditative ripple across the print. The selection of hues is intrinsic to the piece's mood, crafting a picturesque scene where the vibrancy of life and the steadiness of nature coalesce. Vivid pastel facades line the quayside, a tapestry of yellow, orange, pink, and blue fronts portrayed with minimalistic detail, promoting a sense of harmony and simplicity. A collective of boats peacefully moored in the foreground serve as focal points, their reds and blues echoed in the water’s glassy surface, and ushering a silent narrative of maritime charm. The restrained use of lines and the emphasis on flat, planar regions of colour work to encapsulate the viewer in the artwork's embrace. Drawing inspiration from the unspoiled beauty of one of Scotland's renowned locales, this print is a celebration of stillness, colour, and minimalist beauty. The 'Scottish Harbours' collection is proud to include this enchanting scene, offering a breath of Highland air to any space. Whether adorning a home office or bringing a calming influence to a bustling living area, this piece will be the harbinger of contemplative allure and aesthetic pleasure.
