Limited Edition Prints | Blog | Google+ I was traveling through Guilin, China and came across this nice Cormorant Fisherman. We got to talking and he convinced me that he was, in fact, my long-lost uncle Pepe. At first I did not believe him because: 1) I keep a strict count of the number of uncles I have 2) He is a different race and we share no common ancestry 3) He is as old as my grandpa However, he made some very compelling points so I had to concede to his superior logic. It also turned out that he needed a small loan of $100,000 to start a new clothing line. He assured me spandex was making a comeback and he would pay me back within six months, so I lent him the money. I can’t say no to family!

Hello all, this is my 200th article, and I thought i should do something rather different. I will do an overview of the folk costumes of Europe. I will follow nation-states, as inappropriate as that may be, but i will also cover nations without states. Some very small and obscure ethnic groups will be omitted for lack of available material. I will also not be covering the north Caucuses, as there is simply too much material there. Where there is a recognized or unofficial 'National Costume' I will show that. This will necessarily not include much in the way of explanation. Many Maori experiences in Rotorua are very touristy but here I will share with you the best and most authentic Maori experience in Rotorua!
This is a foundation of the Tyrinensian Order of the Benedictines. It was a thriving abbey until destroyed by the reformers along with most of Scotland's church architecture. The author of the declaration of Arbroath , Bernard Linton was buried there. "There 's daggers in men's smiles". - ( Macbeth Act II, Sc. III). "Fair is foul, and foul is fair". - ( Macbeth Act I, Scene I). "Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." (Macbeth Act V, Scene V)
There are places out there in the world which human beings abandoned long ago, leaving nature to reclaim them in their entirety. They often make for a sight that is both frightening and fascinating. They allow us to glimpse a landscape of the future — when humanity has left or ceased to be. The Instagram user itsabandoned offers many such images that help us to think about the future of our world.

We finally managed to get to Castle Coch, near Cardiff yesterday. Well worth the visit, a magical Victorian interpretation of a Medieval castle. This detail is from the ceiling of the drawing room, my favourite room of the castle with so much detail to see. Even the walls were painted from top to bottom with scenes from Aesops fables! And over the next week i'll be posting some magical photos of Georgi, taken during a photoshoot we did together on Friday evening at Peto Iford Manor gardens.
