This Persian needlepoint pattern was inspired by a quote attributed to Michelangelo, the Italian architect, painter, poet, and sculptor. "Ancora Imparo" roughly translates into “I am still learning,” which, in my opinion, is a darn good philosophy, especially from someone as brilliant as Michelangelo. I started sketching my first ideas for this pattern back in 2008. I started with the alphabet pattern which is based on the letters in a William Morris tapestry. I really dove into the detailed design of all the other elements in the summer of 2010. My favorite elements are the fan floral shapes - it was a great challenge to try to keep the detail there while still keeping them a reasonable size. If you like the border pattern but aren't so keen on the "Ancora Imparo" quote, the pattern is also available in the rug option seen in the fourth photo of this listing. It features a diamond grid with a few floral touches. If you want the rug pattern, please convo me and we will set up a custom listing for this option. Easy as pie! Difficulty: This pattern is pretty challenging and more suitable for experienced needlepointers and cross-stitchers. However, we always fully encourage any newbies to give it a shot. Size: 427 stitches wide by 175 stitches tall. Finished size will vary depending on the count fabric/canvas you choose. In 22 count (like the photographed example), the project will be 19.4 x 8.0 in (49.3 x 20.2 cm) before it's finished into a pillow or framed. Format: This is for the pattern ONLY. This is not a kit nor is it the finished product. The pattern comes in .PDF format with a multi-page full color chart, color legend with DMC numbers and rough skein counts for needlepoint, and instructions for both needlepoint and cross-stitch. All pages will be formatted to 8 1/2" x 11" paper. You will need Adobe Reader to open the file, which you can get free at http://get.adobe.com/reader/. This project is also available as a cross stitch or needlepoint kit. Just send me an Etsy message and we can discuss options! Where will your clients come from? Over the years as I visited large quilt shows that had machine dealers/manufacturer booths I have heard a particular sales pitch that kind of makes me crazy. R…
