A National Historic Landmark Also called Heller Residence Cook County, IL Listed: 03/16/1972 Designated an NHL: 08/18/2004 Begun in 1896, this is the most important surviving example of Frank Lloyd Wright’s quest to design geometric architecture. It illustrates Wright’s transition in style from the influence of his mentor, Louis Sullivan, to the development of the Prairie Style of architecture. It is one of the several important designs that illustrate Wright’s international architectural reputation.
