Good morning, dear friends. I hope that you are having a good weekend. Yesterday, the Mister and I spent the day in Connecticut for a funeral. My Sista's beautiful Mother-In-Law passed away. The funeral was fitting for a woman who was the quintessential hostess with a heart of gold. This post is an oldie but a goodie from a few years ago. One of my favorite boards to pin on Pinterest is "DIY." When scrolling through these brilliant ideas, I always seek out the ones that look fairly easy. Unfortunately, I have come to find out that although these projects are probably elementary-level to almost everyone - there is one exception to the rule - moi. All of my whole-hearted attempts seem to end in a defeated call to Sista who then whips out her glue gun, a shoebox, and some watercolors only to end up with a DIY project worthy of some upscale designer boutique. She then sends me a text with a picture, and as I fawn over her latest creation, she tells me it is merely my "interpretation" that fell short. inspiremeheather.com This is one of my favorites... Pottery Barn Sista and #2 love mercury glass. Great touch to any table. attention2detailevents.com Love pistachios, I've got the tarnished candle sticks holders, but not sure I could figure out how to put the whole thing together. magranovice.blogspot.com So simple and elegant. lemonademakinmama.com Sweet goodhousekeeping.com This goes under the "why didn't I think of that?" category. google.com How pretty these would look around the table! Southern Living.com Do I have enough patience to put this sweet arrangement together? Probably not. Southern Living.com Looks fairly easy. vanessachristianson.com I think I could pull this off... but then again... industriousjustice.com. So clever and cute. chic-deco.blogspot.com Two words: rustic elegance 2.bp.blogspot.com Three words: rustic elegance again. nordingarden.blogspot.com Love the simplicity of this. tginteriors.blogspot.com Great looking vignette - the only part I could pull off is the ornaments in the tray. loriange.blogspot.com Great idea... but for some reason, my paper whites never bloom in time. Shocker! vintage-house-blogspot. Looks fairly easy; may try this next year after I build up my confidence for a year of attempting to glue 55 candy canes together. inspirationlane.tumbler.com What an elegant touch for every table setting. google.com I'm pretty sure I could pull this off, and I'm almost sure of it if Sista helped! Speaking of oldies but goodies... Until next time...

I know so many of you probably already put your trees up for Christmas, but I know there are some of you out there that haven't decorated your tree yet or maybe you haven't even put it up. I wanted to share some of my favorite christmas tree inspiration with you today to get you motivated to get those halls decked & have your decor screaming Merry Christmas. Of course there are small Christmas trees, large Christmas trees, & not your average Christmas trees so don't think that you have to have one 'like everybody else'. There are so many
I think we all probably have fond memories of pajama parties, slumber parties, sleepovers - whichever you called them - with girlfriends, don't we? Did you have pillow fights? I don't remember doing that, but maybe we did: Eating - yep, I think I remember that: From 1958: these sisters "could stage a pajama party for the senior class without disturbing their napping little sister...". Dig that cool wall hanging on the brick fireplace: Reel to reel tapes! Um - yes, I remember those, too - but 'm not sure we were allowed to "play" with ours. The Beatles on the wall, cookies - life is good: Playing records, laughing, talking, snacking, staying up until all hours of the night - looks like they're having fun to me! I'd sure love to have that lady bust on her dresser: This next one is an ad from 1970. I was more likely to have just one of my best girlfriends over at a time back then. These girls have the right idea, too! The Beatles, Bobby Sherman, popcorn - and that's a Seventeen magazine she's looking at - I recognize the pictures. I like the posters on her wall the mugs they're drinking out of: Here we go - eating again, in this picture from a 1971 ad. No wonder they stay up all night - must be all that caffeine in the Coca-Cola. You could send away for "the colorful slumber bag complete with carrying case and the shorty pajamas with matching mini pants" that the girls both have. Just $12.95 with proofs of purchase from Coke and Libby's Sloppy Joe! Now we're talking: I think I want to do this again. I just don't know if I could stay up that late...... Maybe if I have a Coke.

The vendors at the Country Living Fair Atlanta 2017 did a great job of composing wonderful vignettes of their wares in beautiful and inspiring ways. I use the word "inspiring" as in, we can look at their displays and get ideas of how we can achieve pleasing results with vignettes in our own homes. Most of the vignettes at the fair are populated with more items than we would use in our homes because the vendors are displaying their things to sell but note what items they put together and what you might already have that you could use in a new way. Don't think only of tabletops but of your mantel (if you have one) and porch area too. Here are 25 of my favorite vignettes from the fair... It is mind-boggling to think of the time, effort and money the vendors spend to display at the fair. I hope they did well!
