Hi everyone! It's Tara with Secretbees Studio and I have a pretty new mini album to share! Vintage is such a great style for Christmas and the new Simple Stories Simple Vintage 'Tis The Season collection proves just that. All of the papers, embellishments, icons and ephemera are full of vintage beauty and gorgeous rich colors! Because this collection invokes such a nostalgic feel for olden days, I decided to create a junque journal stuffed full of tags, ticket and postcards that have all been decked out for the holidays with this spectacular collection! I also layered in lots of the new Color Vibe Winter polka dots which adds even more charm! The first part of the album opens up to reveal three pockets! One on the first page to hold tags, another behind the second page that is filled with beautiful ephemera and the third page which is the pocket and holds two beautiful cards! I let everything hang out and over the edges to give it that stuffed, 'antique' feel! The second section opens up to two pages each charmingly decorated with bits and pieces from the collection, along with stickers, chipboard and decorative brads. The ticket embellishment on the last page is two different pieces layered together to give it a nice and thick effect! There is also another hidden pocket in between the last page and the back cover. This one holds some larger pieces of ephemera that would work great for journaling your Christmas memories! I added a few more embellishments to each as well! I have a tutorial for this adorable 'junque' mini album available on my YouTube channel so be sure and head over there to create one for yourself and your favorite holiday memories!
Excited to announce the release of the new Rustic Christmas Collection designed for Simple Stories! It might look a bit familiar because it's an evolved and expanded upon collection that started with Rustique Noel! So many fresh new designs and elements in this collection you might just need to get your hands on some paper
Hello friends, It’s Dorymar today sharing a beautiful Christmas project! Christmas is next week, and we must document all the beautiful and pleasant moments with our family. And what better way to do it by document it in a beautiful 4x6 flipbook album with the Simple Vintage Rustic Christmas collection? On this occasion, I used the black flipbook and covered the front with the paper "Here Comes Santa Claus". This paper on the left side has a beautiful rustic Santa Claus design, so I decided to fussy cut it and adhered it to the left side of the cover with foam tape to add dimension. Then, I decorated with die cuts and enamel dots. As a title, I used a sentiment from the Sticker Book. The 4x6 flipbook comes with 10 pocket pages, but I added three personalized dividers. To create the base of them, I used the Cranberry/Sage solid paper. Then I covered with patterned paper from the collection and create pockets, flap and inserts for a fun an interactive look. This collection includes beautiful die cuts, but among my favorites are the gigantic poinsettias, they are beautiful and perfect to fill and create that rustic look. Here you can see how I used them to decorate my pockets, they look fantastic! There is always room to use the 3x4 and 4x6 journaling cards to create flaps and inserts in my projects. They are super useful and one of my favorite things in Simple Stories collections. This is a small project but full of beautiful details and you can use it as a personal project or as a valuable gift for this Christmas. I invite you to use it as inspiration and give love to your loved ones. I hope you have a beautiful Christmas! Thanks for stopping by!
Oh, what Fun! Hello Friends, It’s Dorymar today with a fun and fantastic project with the new Boho Christmas collection. What I love about this collection is the blush pink and sage green between the dark red and green colors. They make a fantastic combination. On the cover, as always, I selected different patterned papers to create my background. Then, I created a fun shaker with one of the beautiful frames included in the collection. Around it, I added a few gorgeous elements to create the central focus and the title. Is not Santa the cutest Santa you have ever seen? The cutest Santa is included in the new embellishments called Layered Chipboards. They are perfect for creating fun clusters and add dimension to your project. I love them! To create my page dividers, I used the white Color Vibe cardstock; they are very thick and perfect for creating these pages. This page has a pocket on top and another shaker on the back. I love adding this kind of thing because playing with the pieces and stunning elements in the collection is so fun. In these pages, I created a top pocket and a bottom-side pocket. On top, you can see two flaps created with the tags included in the collection. For the finishing touches, I added ribbon and a fun cluster with the bits and pieces of the collection. I love Santa! He looks perfect on every page. The pages on this album offer many layers, dimensions, interactive elements and space for photos and journaling. I love adding textures and many embellishments on my pages because they look so gorgeous. I love the new Boho Christmas Collection, and I hope this project inspires you to create a fun and interactive project to document these Christmas days! Have fun, happy crafting! Simple Stories - Simple Pages Page Kit - Rustic Christmas - Magical Season Color Vibe Cardstock: Aspen/White Notebook, Brick, Cranberry, Pine, Evergreen, Black, Warm White, Charcoal, Grey..
Hello friends! Well, it has happened again…I have completely fallen in love with another Simple Stories creation (as always seems to be the case). The new Simple Vintage Dear Santa Collection has every single thing I love about Christmas all wrapped up in one beautiful collection. Let’s take a look at the 12 x 12 layout I created to document a few of my favorite vintage ornaments. When beginning this layout, I knew I wanted to use the 6 x 8 Stencil on the project but was not quite sure how. While looking through my crafty stash, I found some white ribbon that I felt would go well with the collection and decided to try inking the stencil images on it. After a bit of trial and error, I was able to use distress oxide inks with the stencil to create a one-of-a-kind ribbon embellishment. After completing the ribbon, I chose several patterned papers that matched my photo and machine stitched them in place to create the background. Next, I cut a chipboard frame in half and used it as the base for my picture. With the photo in place, I used portions of the rub-ons to add color and texture to the background. Next, I used several different elements from the collection to embellish the layout. I cannot stress just how much I love the Simple Vintage Dear Santa Collection! It is almost as if it were made just for me. To create the title, I used foam stickers and a sentiment from the sticker book as well as added hand-written journaling. To finish the embellishing, I added bits of washi tape along the top and bottom of the picture. Last, I splattered white paint to provide even more of a vintage feel. Here is one more look at the finished project. Thank you for stopping by today, and I hope you’ve been inspired to get some of your favorite memories documented. Need a gift for the merry-maker who has it all? Why not construct a whimsical December Days Scrapbook Album & Journal using the “Jingle All the Way” Collection and accessories! There are so many ways to go about building one of these handy organizers, but I hope that you can grab a few new ideas to incorporate! I also have a YouTube video available of the complete walk-through how I made the pocket pages. My main focus was the 6X8 paper pad papers, so I built the album around that. I cut two cover papers to 6.5”X8.5” and corner rounded the edges. On the front cover I did add a journal card, washi tape and various die-cuts prior to laminating. I used a heat laminator and a 5 mil laminate on the papers and then trimmed to size. Before binding, I organized the 6X8 papers from the paper pad and crafted four pocket pages. To create the pocket pages: score a 12X12 piece of double-sided paper at 6”; turn and score at 8”. Fold in half along the 6” mark and make a slanted cut at the spine, from the bottom up to the 8” score mark. This makes it easier for the pocket to fold. This process is a part of the video! After stacking all of the pages in order I used a CINCH binding system and 1” metal comb to bind everything together. The front cover was embellished with a couple of adhesive brads and puffy sticker. I also added a gift tag, laminated charm die-cuts and a bow with a bell! Now onto the embellishing of the pages: Many components from the Jingle All the Way Collection were used throughout the project: Collection Kit, 6X8 Paper Pad, Foam Stickers, Chipboard Stickers, Adhesive Brads, Sticker Book, Journal Bits, Bits & Pieces, Number Bits, Washi Tape, SN@P Cards and Enamel Dots. Again, I have a complete walk-through and tips on how I put this album together on my YouTube Channel…I hope you’ll watch! Thanks for joining! Shellye
Hi and thanks for stopping by! Today I’m sharing eight cards made with the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Rustic Christmas Collection. I send more cards during the holiday season than any other time of year and I love that Simple Stories offers different collections to fit the different people in my life! The Simple Vintage Rustic Christmas Collection has papers in traditional red and green and classic vintage images. The prints include pretty plaids, checks, damask and stunning florals. You’ll find printed die cut images of beautiful birds, cute critters, and poinsettias in realistic detail. The vintage images get a modern update when you mix in hearts, decorative brads, enamel dots and washi. This collection is available in both 12” and 6x8” papers. My cards are made with the 12” collection kit because I like to integrate the sticker sheet, 3x4” elements and journal elements on my cards. The elements make great foundations for focal points perfect for embellishing! When your larger elements are fixed in place it’s fun to take a second look at your finished cards and add more details with sticker tabs and sentiment strips, decorative brads, enamel dots, and chipboard hearts. I love that all the elements in every collection are designed to work together! The colors are always perfectly matched, and the dimensions are ideal for creating scenes. The collection has beautifully detailed images, they are so whimsical! The skating Santa holding mistletoe over his head or delivering a big sack of goodies will have you smiling. The beautiful florals – hibiscus and poinsettia will have you thinking of a tropical holiday or a trip to the conservatory for the holiday display. Wishing you a fantastic holiday season surrounded by the people you love making memories to last a lifetime!
Hi there, today I’d like to show you how I’ve gone wild with chipboard frames! I’ve used the Simple Vintage Country Harvest collection and the coordinating 6x8 Sn@p! Flipbook. As I’m sure you know by now, I love to decorate the front covers of my binders & flipbooks. Here I’ve used one of the chipboard frames around one of the elements from the 12x12 collection kit. Layers, layers and more layers!!…I’ve tucked leaves from the ‘Harvest bits & pieces’ behind the frame and then layered up a chipboard piece, with a layered sticker on top of that. I’ve also included brads and enamel dots. You can clearly see the layers here, you’ll also notice how I’ve actually covered the ‘pretty bit’ of the chipboard frame. Throughout this project you’ll find I’ve done that on the majority of the frames. On this full page I’ve layered up the corner of this chipboard frame with tags and tickets from the bits & pieces pack. What’s so fun with the flipbooks is you can still easily add additional pages, here I’ve made a flip page. Now you’ll see why I often cover areas of the chipboard frames…I do it so I can get them to fit exactly where I want them too. This particular frame was designed to lie horizontally, but I wanted it to fit vertically…never be afraid to make what you’re working with adapt to your needs! Inside the flip page I’ve used some of the journaling elements and also some foam stickers. Again with this chipboard frame, it was designed to sit horizontally, but I had different ideas!! Easy! Just cover up the designs with layers of prettiness! I hope this blog has shown you how easily you can have fun with fabulous frames and lots of luscious layers.
Hello Simple Stories Friends. Karlla here, and I'm so happy to share this project with you. Christmas is such a special date and full of feelings. I hope you can feel all my love in this layout. I'm in love with "Simple Vintage Tis the Season". I couldn't choose just one paper to work on in the background of this project. I cut a large circle in the center of the "Christmas Spirit Paper" and frayed the edges. then I applied it to the "Home for the Holidays Paper". A simple machine-made seam makes the finishing of the circle even more detailed. I told you I'm in love with the whole collection, right? But the "Make it Merry" role won my heart. I immediately imagined these cars as the basis of the photos. Adding the beautiful flowers from the "Floral Bits & Pieces". I created a vertical base with several embellishment overlays and small photos. I love working with small photos, making the project more playful. For the title, the amazing word "Christmas" from the 6x12 chipboard, made the layout as I imagined. I added some elements like "brads, enamel nots, and chipboard stars". I finished it off with a splash of white acrylic paint. I love this effect for vintage collections like this. I added only where the overlays of the photos are located. Giving more prominence to that location. Thank you for stopping by the Simple Stories blog! I hope you were inspired by this project. I can't wait to see your creations with this collection. See you Soon, Karlla. SUPPLIES "Simple Vintage Tis the Season" Collector's Essential Kit Bits & Pieces Glossy Enamel dots Decoratives Brads
Hello dear Simple Stories friends, Gloria Parra here with a new Christmas layout using the awesome new Boho Christmas collection. I really can’t stop drooling over how perfect this collection is! I love the color palette, the modern feel and the cool rainbows and Santas; and if you know me, you sure know I LOVE pink in any shade! To start my layout, I used the green plaid patterned paper and layered on top the light pink tree paper cut at 11 1/4” square. I also added some machine stitching to all the borders to add some texture to my layout! For this layout I decided to create a banner type design. I was really inspired by all the banners and hanging inspired embellishments in this collection, so I decided to make those the main design element on my layout. I added some hand stitching to continue the home made feel this collection has. I started by cutting 3 banners from 3 different 6x8 pattered paper from the paper pad. The 2 small banners are 3x4” and the big banner in the middle measures 4x5 1/4”. I then used a journaling tag from the journal Bits and Pieces pack to place my photo in. I loved how small and perfect it looked beside my banners, so I cut the white part in the middle and added some foam adhesive to the back and adhered my 3x4 photo there. I then layered a couple of banner type journaling banner elements from the Journal Bits and Pieces pack on top of my big patterned paper banners. On top of these journaling elements, I placed some foam banner stickers creating a layer of banners, one on top of the other. I believe this adds interest and texture to this fun layout! On the top right of my layout I added a floral border, a journaling label, a floral die cut, a chipboard snow globe and a deco brad to balance my layout out a little bit since we have to much weight in the middle. This is the perfect spot to add my journaling… On the bottom of the banner with my photo, I created a floral cluster with a layered chipboard flower and some floral die cuts. Finally, I added a “Be Merry” banner as my title and beautiful chipboard Santa the looks like his holding this cute banner. To finish my layout, I added some brads to my banners and some red twine to hold everything together. I hope you guys like it and that you feel inspired to grab this collection and crate a banner type layout to document your beautiful holiday memories! Happy Holidays to all! XOXO, Gloria

Hi Friends! My name is Andrea and I am sharing a fun mini album today. I created a chipboard base that holds two 4x6 Flipbooks. I chose a red and a green one to decorate with the colorful ‘Dear Santa’ collection. I wanted to make something different and fun. I love the traditional Christmas colors of this collection and I happened to have the perfect 4x6 Flipbooks for it. I knew I wanted to make two different albums and decorate them mirroring each other. That also meant I needed to find a way to keep them both together. I created a chipboard base, covered it with pretty pattern papers from the collection on the outside, and used some Simple Stories Color Vibe Cardstock to cover the inside covers and create the pockets to hold the Flipbooks. I decorated the covers of each mini book adding a lot of dimension and a fun mixture of textures. I played with the rub-ons, chipboard clusters, foam stickers and bits & pieces. I made sure to decorate them with some tone-on-tone embellishments to match the cover colors. Both albums are decorated very similarly, I created my own inserts, and used the 4x6 and 3x4 pocket pages as well. I hope you feel inspired by this project and grab this beautiful collection to create some fun and outside the box projects to record all your Holiday memories. I’d love to see what you create with it. Love, Andrea.
