My love for crochet art began with Clare Crespo's show of crochet food in 2000 at George's Gallery in Los Angeles. Clare is so inspiring on an insane amount of levels. More of her work is included below. As a serial hobbyist, crochet is one of my favorite mediums! First taught to me by the talented Cal Patch when she had her shop in the LES, her lessons can be found online at Creative Bug. Here are some crochet artists that I've been inspired by recently. Like all Radder posts, links to their sites are clickable on their names. I have loads more of crochet inspiration on my Pinterest boards. Crocheted food is only one sliver (like all of the artists included) of the amazingness that Clare does. Some great videos about Ruth here and here and larger images here. Many of the photos of Ruth and her family are by Imogene Cunnigham. Also, this blog, is a treasure trove of crochet inspiration. Mr. Finch, a reserved artist in England who goes only by this name, creates beautiful woodland creatures and plants that seem to have come right out of old English fables. Hares, spiders and mushrooms are recurring characters in his dream-like pieces, which are also inspired by British folklore and fairytales. They are all sewn out of vintage textiles, each of which has a story to tell.

I'm thinking of redecorating my bedroom - not for any particular reason except that I get bored quite quickly (hubby won't be pleased!). We decorated our house when we bought it in May 2008 and in our bedroom I got abit carried away as I was allowed to go girly! I still love this style but it feels abit bare at the moment as there is only a feature wallpapered wall with the rest of the walls being painted white. I definitely want to keep the duck egg blue curtains but have been thinking of papering all of the walls to make it more cosy and boudouir-ish. This is our room at the moment: The wallpaper is Summer Palace by Laura Ashley and is really pretty: I have been looking through loads of gorgeous wallpapers online and had been leaning towards creamy/beige wallpaper so that the scheme was abit more understated: Then I saw this gorgeous wallpaper on House to Home, it is called Swan Lake and is by Nina Campbell for Osborne & Little: (colour palette) I feel abit bad about this because the colours are exactly the same as the wallpaper we have now - I think it looks less busy which is why it lends itself to being papered on all the walls.
