How to Organise Your Bookcase: I love books. I love reading them, I love talking about them, and I especially love owning them. I like to think of my book fetish as a healthy addiction (my friends and family do not always agree, for they sigh that I must have enough books to last…
So. Gorgeous.
Hello and welcome to the Woodland Shelf company, we have been involved with making Tree and Branch shelves for over five years and are proud of the quality of our products and our exceptional customer service. We are happy to offer multiple variations or adaptions to all our designs so if you have any particular requirements then please do get in touch to see how we can help. Please have a look at our website gallery to see the extensive range of shelves we have been involved with. All imagery apart from the square edge versions of our listings are of actual products and not A.I. generated imagery of imaginary items. Our Elm Tree is the original design and makes a fantastic statement piece to your home. This stunning Tree Shelf is lovingly hand made over a period of a seven to ten days from European oak and finished in our small workshop in the Cotswolds, United Kingdom. Each Tree is individual thanks to the variation of the Oak boards we carefully select, and the extra time we take in sculpting each piece to a beautiful finish. All of our Tree Shelves are sealed using child and environmentally friendly hard wax oils to give the best all round protection whilst really showing off the Oak grain patterns. Each Tree is 1.2m wide and stands around 1.8m tall from the base to the top shelf piece. Depths vary due to the nature of the boards we use and can range from between 170mm and 200mm. They are designed to be installed with the minimum amount of effort possible and we provide all the necessary concealed fixtures and fittings for 99% of all wall types as well as comprehensive installation instructions. We also provide thorough support in those rare instances it might be necessary. -------------------- Please can all our customers make sure they are aware of all possible VAT/custom charges when importing, these can be found on your countries relevant customs pages. -------------------- Waney Edge Oak Our Waney edged Oak is selected from European oak that has either been sourced from France or Poland. This finish maintains the natural shape to the edge of the board; we remove the bark and sand the board to a smooth finish. Waney edges are different with every piece of wood. Some boards might be quite straight without much character and others may contain more character and quirks, the shape of the waney edge is more evident the longer the lengths are. As they are not straight , waney edge boards are measured as an average along their length. This means that some portions of the shelves might come out undersized and some over. We make Waney edge tree shelves at the depth specified plus the wane, which means that they can be anything between 20 – 50 mm variation in depth along the length. We try to source the most characterful boards that we can for this finish, they may include large-holed knots and splits (which we deem to be stable). Shelf depths vary considerably due to the nature of the boards used but the main lengths are approximately 170 – 190mm deep on average -------------------- Bark Edge - Presently only available from our website due to limited stocks Specially selected from pieces of European Oak that has been sourced from France and Poland. The ultimate statement of rustic and wild finishes and perfect for a tree shelf. This finish retains the real bark edge of the board and we select only the most solid, minimally touched bark pieces for this finish, an incredibly delicate process. As this is not a manufactured edge it can be fragile; the bark on these boards has already gone through the felling, transporting, sawing and kiln drying process, making it extremely difficult to source. It cannot be easily worked or repaired, so we are very careful to take our time when working with it. We only recommend Bark edge for areas of low footfall or for where the branches are out of reach of children as they will find a multitude of ways to remove/pick at the Bark, which they will do!! Please note that there will be inconsistencies along the bark edge due to natural variation and the processes involved with felling and processing. We make bark edge shelves at the depth specified plus the bark, so as with the waney edge finish there can be a depth variation of between 20 – 50mm in places. We try to source boards that have the most character for these trees. The may include large-holed knots, splits (which we deem to be stable) and of course real bark! Shelf depths vary considerably due to the nature of the boards used but the main lengths are approximately 170 – 190mm deep on average. -------------------- Lead Times: Please note that whilst we have long lead times we always aim to ship earlier than these dates. Each item is handmade and build times vary across our range, trees can take between seven to ten days to complete and as we also receive orders via our website we have to manage a careful balancing act to make sure we can fulfill all of our orders efficiently. We always try our best to facilitate delivery by specific dates when requested so please do ask and we can see if this is possible based on our current work schedule. -------------------- Ordering: When you order could you kindly provide us with your wall type (Plasterboard, stone/brick wood etc.) and an email address and contact telephone number (This is purely for customs clearance and for insurance purposes). Could you also let us know the height and depth of any skirting/baseboard so as we can make the necessary cut out to keep your tree flush to the wall. We have a great deal of experience adapting all of our designs to fit your wall space no matter where you wish to locate them, taller, wider or a complete redesign, nothing is too difficult so please do get in contact. Europe and Brexit, please can all of our European customers be aware of changes after Brexit. This now means that VAT is charged on import and whilst in the region of 20% this does vary from country to country so you should take this into account. Whilst Etsy does mention this whenever you are ordering on its site we feel we should reiterate this point.
