Today I am taking you on a tour of my cozy modern farmhouse Christmas bedroom. Red Plaid and flocked trees can turn any space into a Winter wonderland!
As soon as we had our first snowfall I went down to our Boathouse with my camera and took a few shots of the little nook all decked out for the Christmas season. It was a perfect calm day, the trees are reflecting in the pond and with snow covering the ground and trees, it was beautiful! Candles, pinecones and lights. The vintage red and white handmade quilt adds just just the right touch. A wider view. A cup of tea and a Christmas magazine and I am ready to enjoy the nook. This little nook is one of my favorite plaves to relax with a good book.Hope you enjoyed a peek at it in it's winter/Christmas glory! If you would like to see an autumn look click here and for a summer look click here I have some photos of the rest of the Christmas Boathouse to share soon. Thank you for your visit! Carolyn

Last post before Christmas! That is pretty exciting. I joined an amazing group of bloggers for a Christmas Night tour. I think this is easily going to be my favorite tour yet. Have you ever been to a progressive dinner? Where you start appetizers at a neighbors house, drinks at the next and keep moving around to see all your neighbors homes and eat dinner in small bites along the way. End at dessert! Although there is no food on the tour...there are over 25 homes you can easily peep into. Easier than a Progressive Dinner. I hope you make it over to the blog today to see our home at night. And I just and I just want to say Merry Christmas to you! I honestly wish I could have you all over to our home to do this tour in person. Thank you for supporting my blog, what a gift you have given to me. xxxxx

When many of us think of the festive period we think of a Victorian Christmas. After all, the Victorians made Christmas trees and yuletide decorations popular and Charles Dickens's Christmas Carol is so closely linked with this period. Many Victorian Christmas customs that endure today originated in Germany. The turning point was the London News
Today, I am sharing more of the boathouse decked out for the Christmas season. The iron bed was a yardsale find as everything else in here is ~ even the linens are from various thrift shops. The boathouse was built by my husband and son a few years ago, using old windows, doors and some old beadboard etc.and since neither one of them are carpenters I think they did an amazing job! Love the ambiance of the fireplace. Would you like to curl up with a book and a cup of tea? My red transferware dishes fit right in! I love this old mirror from a Christmas show a few weeks ago.I plan to put a wreath it. It is starting to get dark making it ever so cozy! Love the glow of candles~so romantic. Well, I will leave you now in case you want to curl up for awhile and enjoy a little nap in the Christmas Boathouse. Soon, I will show you the little boathouse conservatory newly decorated for the season. Hope you enjoy your day! Carolyn
