Most of the fixture is stamped brass, while the arms and chain flourish are cast brass. The fixture had been redone about a decade ago. New turn-key sockets were installed with cheap plastic keys. The wiring was plastic. And the thin chain from Home Depot. The fixture had, as a result, lost its dignity. I installed a matched set of 1920s Webber turn-key sockets, new cloth-covered wiring, and period-correct chain of the right scale and shape. Dignity has been restored. The brass had also been polished and lacquered. I retained this. The arms feature a lovely shell motif. I like that the tassel finial retains its upper flourish. Pan-style fixtures were wildly popular from the 1900s to the 1930s, and were used in all style homes. This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included). Clear Edison-style LED bulbs would look great. COLOR: Brass. SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 30-1/2-inches and is 20-1/2-inches wide (diagonally, shade edge to shade edge) or 16-wide (side by side, shade edge to shade edge). The main body is 10-wide. I can remove up to 9-inches of chain; I can add chain. CONDITION: There's no damage. As noted, the turn-key sockets are new to the fixture but are from the 1920s, and with new wiring and paper insulators. The new chain is period-correct. Have a high ceiling basement with a 3 or 3-1/2 in. Dia support column over 8 ft. tall that needs to be covered. We have a solution for that too. Columns over 8 ft. will require the addition of this 4 ft. Wrap Extention made from the same premium oak material as our standard length 8 ft. Oak Wrap. We recommend purchasing our Oak Pole-Wrap Drink Shelf as well to hide the joining seam and add functionality to your beautifully finished column.
