Practice 38 of the most common idioms with these funny idiom posters. How Idiom of the Week works in my classroom: Each week I post a new idiom poster. We discuss what it means and how it is used in conversation. Then my students try using the idiom in a sentence. Afterwards, they write their sentence on a post-it and stick it on our "Idiom of the Week" bulletin board. This ensures that my students are exposed to common idioms without bombarding them with too many at once. This resource includes: -38 colored posters that display an idiom, the meaning, it used in a sentence, and a visual representation. -4 Bulletin Board Display Options (Letters, Banner, 1 Page Header, 1/2 Page Header for smaller boards) Idioms Included: Add fuel to the fire Ants in my pants A short fuse Taste of your own medicine Butterflies in my stomach Catch some Z's Cold Feet Kill 2 Birds with 1 Stone Cut them some slack Draw the line Pulling my leg Every cloud has a silver lining Finding a needle in a haystack Fish out of water Put your foot in your mouth Get something off my chest Couch Potato Go the extra mile Two peas in a pod Hit the books In the nick of time Let the cat out of the bag Break the Ice Once in a blue moon Speak of the devil Sleep on it Straight form the horse's mouth A drop in the bucket Cry over spilled milk Up a creek without a paddle When pigs fly Under the Weather Open a can of worms Walking on eggshells Raining cats and dogs Zip your lips In the same boat On top of the world Click here to view my other ELA resources ♡ ♡ Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
