Let's practice some of the trickier parts of sketching those pretty nature views with these simple landscape drawing exercises for beginners and pros.
Charcoal drawings of animal life at night. This post contains some of the works of French / Finnish Artist Ariane Relander. She produces different types of animal art. The ones I have chosen for your Monday page, are the nocturnal goings on, of animals in nature. Looking at the illustrations, I get the feeling of the forest at night and the absence of sound making any little noise amplified in its surroundings. Sketches that hint at the animal's form. Realistic detailing is swapped for silhouettes, which move quietly though the night and experience nature in a totally different way than when it's flooded in daylight. Ps. I gave the images some titles. Nighttime bear and flowers. Press the Image to Enlarge it. Nighttime deer and fawn. Press the Image to Enlarge it. Nighttime black swan. Press the Image to Enlarge it. Just a few minutes of targeted sketching practice a day can help you improve your technique over time, raise your confidence and keep you in shape even on busy days.
“I like bad drawers, or I like when there are vulnerable elements in a drawing,” says artist Judit Kristensen. From Umeå in the north of Sweden but currently based in Copenhagen, Judit has tried to hang on to some of the less-than-perfect technical details from when she first started working in this style two years ago. “ I guess time has made me a better draftsman – for better and for worse. I prefer empathetic over perfection, and you cant really be voluntarily bad to make a drawing vulnerable. I think that would have an opposite effect.”
