The shapes are made of wood. Poplar plywood, beech, or Balsa wood. The hand-bent iron rods of galvanized steel have a grey, blueish-worn finish. Giving it an industrial touch. A kind of perfect imperfection. This mobile is made in small badges. Each one is unique in its finish. I use wood because it’s warm and Fen Shui in your space. Most mobiles have a subtle color palette that blends aesthetically in your room. People love the playfulness and how it inspires their imagination. Even in their abstract manner, I like the way mobiles have a narrative or could represent little funny creatures in a lush environment. Gently coming alive with a breeze. Before going to art school, I was already fascinated by the playfulness of the modernist artists around the 1920s-1940s who had this strong believe and desire to envision a better world. It was later that I realized that kinetic art objects like mobiles are perfect objects to represent and transmit feelings of joy and playfulness.
