A metal print is a captivating, contemporary way to display photographs; this print was made on a sheet of polyester-coated aluminum, allowing an image transfer via dye sublimation-- the process by which dyes turn to gas when heated, after which they transfer to the metal print and solidify. The end result is a visually clean, modern image with rich colors and a low-glare, white satin finish. Ready to hang.

Another interesting abandoned farmhouse in the Carrothers area. As it runs through the eastern townships of Seneca County, State Route 4 passes many similar buildings. I'm struck by the similarity of this house's porch to one photographed by I.T. Frary in 1924. C. Sillman owned the property in 1874. The house is listed as "vacant" in the 1977 directory, but it appeared to be well-kept in 1969.
