DO NOT redistribute this pattern by yourself. This is a pattern to crochet Pascal, not the finished Product. It is a .pdf document with written instructions and step by step pictures on how to crochet it. The finished product should be around 4cm tall and 2.5cm wide (if, of course, respecting the yarn and hook size indicated). As it’s so small, it’s not intended to be a standalone toy, but it’s more a prop to go with my Rapunzel pattern, which you find for free in my account :) Crochet level: intermediate and above . Language English Level Easy/Intermediate Construction The Petra Sweater is worked bottom up in flat knitting, in garter and 1x1 rib band stitch. It’s an easy stitch but it requires to count rows. For both the front and back pieces, you will start by working 8 rows in 1x1 ribs, then work the rest of the body in garter and 1x1 rib band stitch. You will cast off stitches to shape the underarms, and then you will cast off stitches once you reach the neckline. You’ll work each shoulder separately with decreases to shape the neckline. The sleeves are also worked in flat knitting, from bottom to top. You will work the whole sleeve in garter and 1x1 rib band stitch, with increases to shape to sleeves. You will pick up stitches along the neckline to work the collar in garter and 1x1 rib band stitch with 4 mm needles. Shape and sizes The Petra Sweater is meant to be worn adjusted, with a comfortable ease. It goes down to the hips, and the sleeves stop at the wrists. Sizes XS/S – S/M – M/L – L/XL – XL/2XL are suited for an approximate bust circumference of 80/85 – 85/90 – 90/95 – 95/110 – 110/125 cm. Make sure to take your measurements in order to chose the size that fits you best, depending on your morphology, and the fit you are aiming for. English: Ammonites are fossilized sea creatures, the forefathers of the Nautilus. They are formed like ram’s horns, named after the Egyptian god Amon whose animal was the ram. Once, ammonites roamed the seven seas, all bright and fearsome. Now, all we have are some dull colored stones. This is your opportunity to give them back their sparkle! For the mathematically inclined: Each section is build up according to the Fibonacci sequence (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, …). As the Fibonacci sequence is a model for natural growth, the ammonites look rather realistic. There are two versions given in the pattern: For a fast-growing ammonite and for a slow-growing one. Tentacles are optional. The ammonite is worked in Tunisian crochet, with short rows. These stitches are based on the Tunisian Simple Stitch. They are also known as linked stitches. All new terminology is explained in the pattern. The pattern comes with picture tutorials for all stitches and techniques used. yarn: 4ply cotton. Yarn can be substituted ad libitum. hook: 3 mm (US size C or D) You do not need a special Tunisian hook for this pattern! other notions: polyfill and a darning needle Gauge is not important for this pattern. American Terms Difficulty: Comfortable Beginner Comfortable with rows, increasing and decreasing, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and picot stitches. Some sewing required.
