I have a fair number of pistols of different patterns, revolvers, DA autos centerfire and rimfire, single shot break open, so I know a little about them. This type of pistol is known as a 1911, meaning it is a direct descendant of John Browning's design. There is a reason this 100 year-old design is still among the top selling pistols world wide, decade after decade. When you handle and shoot one of these, you will understand. The design, the feel, the fit to the human body are as close to perfection as manufactured objects ever come. It is art in function as well as appearance. I feel sorry for you guys who live in countries where your leaders have decided that you cannot be trusted with the defense of your family, person or property.
