Tie off any ends after cutting for use in your fiber art projects. There are no synthetic materials in these art yarns and are all sustainably handmade with care by me. I dye my own wool and silk, as such, dye lots may vary therefore it is recommended to purchase the entire amount you may need in one order. By Benjamin KrudwigFor our fiber collaboration this month, I had the pleasure of working with Into the Whirled. This month, I wanted to try my hand at spinning beaded yarn. There are a few ways to spin beads into yarn, but I think I might have chosen the most involved (but most secure) method. The inspiration for my skein came from the name of the colorway; "Cripple Creek." As many Coloradans know, Cripple Creek was a hotspot during the gold rush of 1890 founded by Bobby Womack. When I was a child, my grandfather and my uncle wrote a musical called "Bobby Womack and the City of Gold" so the link between Cripple Creek and gold has stuck with me ever since. I chose gold beads for this reason.

85/15 Superwash Merino/Nylon Worsted Weight 100 gram skein/186 yards One of my greatest hopes is that my kids would get into dyeing yarn, spinning wool and everything that I do love about fiber arts. Over the past year or so, I have brought each of the kids to the dye pan and let them create whatever they want—-each of them absolutely loved it and I was thrilled to see each of their personalities show in the colors they chose. This colorway was created by my oldest daughter Kayla (age 19). Watching her create this colorway was like taking a peak into the past, her childlike excitement was hard to ignore! **All profits in the Kids Capsule Collection go to the kids savings accounts.** Each skein is carefully hand dyed by me in small batches, using high quality, super soft yarns, and acid dyes. Because of this, each skein is truly a unique creation, and a one of a kind colorway. These yarns are wonderful for shawls, sweaters, hats, and anything else you can think of! When using hand-dyed yarns in a project that requires more than one skein, it is strongly recommended to alternate skeins every other row of knitting to even out any differences. Lastly, as with any hand dyed yarn, please expect some variation from skein to skein (even within the same batch), as each skein is individually hand painted. I always attempt to take photos that accurately represent each colorway correctly, however color and intensity may vary with your monitor settings. Care instructions: I dye my yarn with professional acid dyes. The skeins are washed and rinsed thoroughly, although light bleeding may occur during the first wash. Hand wash in cool water and lay flat to dry. Please Note: This listing is for ONE full size skein, unless otherwise noted. If you are unsure, please message me prior to purchasing. Thank you! **Many of our items are made to order, please check shipping timeframes when checking out. If you are in need of expedited processing, we do have an add-on option for expedited order processing. Please be aware that choosing this option ONLY affects processing times, and does NOT change shipping timeframes. For expedited shipping please see our expedited shipping add-on.** *Please Note: Items that are non-superwash or have silk may not take the dye as vibrantly as superwash or non-silk items.
