This large mixed media fiber artwork is inspired by raw, treeless mountain tracts of titular tundra. I created these structural forms using different textile hand creating techniques, the main being punch needle rug hooking. These forms resemble mosses, shrubs and lichens of the permafrost areas. Though the piece pictures such cold and raw territories, it brings much warmth and welcoming feel to the space, and creates a sense of a cozy, "hygge" atmosphere. The decorative tapestry is made of beige, yellow/mustard, dusty pink and burgundy fibers. It can be hung both vertically as well as horizontally, for exmaple above the bed or sofa.
