Lorenzo Quinn is an Italian sculptor currently living in Barcelona, Spain. The fifth son of Hollywood actor Anthony Quinn, Lorenzo grew up in Italy and the United States. Quinn studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in New York, focusing on surrealist painting but eventually discovered that his true passion was sculpture.
Inspired by masters like Michelangelo, Bernini and Rodin, Quinn’s work has been exhibited internationally and can be found in public and private collections around the globe. According to the Halcyon Gallery which represents many of his works, he is best known for expressive recreations of human hands. ‘I wanted to sculpt what is considered the hardest and most technically challenging part of the human body’, he asserts. ‘The hand holds so much power – the power to love, to hate, to create, to destroy.’.
