Portraits of Musicians Right After a Show

Written by

Since 2005, photographer Matthias Willi and journalist Olivier Joliat managed to inspire about 100 bands to take part in their project. Their efforts have culminated in the publication of their book entitled, The Moment After the Show.

Next to the photos, the artists get their say while the authors also describe how they managed to get such intimate shots. Details on how the shots were set up and memorable experiences during the project are also included. It’s an interesting glimpse into a special moment many of us will never get to experience.

Bands include:

Archive, Melissa Auf der Maur, Beatsteaks, Bitch Queens, The Black Angels, Blackmail, Buckcherry, The Budos Band, Client, The Datsuns, Dead Moon, Deftones, Dendemann, dEUS, Eagles of Death Metal, Fântomas, Fucking Beautiful, Ghinzu, Gnarls Barkley, Adam Green, The Hives, Isis, The Jackets, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Juliette And The Licks, Kamikaze Queens, Karma to Burn, Kashmir, The Kooks, Kyuss, Mark Lanegan, The Lemonheads, Jamie Lidell, The Lombego Surfers, Madrugada, Mando Diao, Metallica, Mondo Generator, Muse, Navel, Peaches, Placebo, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Raveonettes, Reverend Beat-Man, Kid Rock, Sludge, Sonic Youth, Sons & Daughters, Soulwax, The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, Stiller Has, The Stooges, Tafs, Trail Of Dead, Triggerfinger, Two Gallants, Farin Urlaub, Vive la Fête, Wir Sind Helden, The Young Gods, Zatokrev.
