Recreating Famous Movie Scenes with Lego

Alex Eylar is an incredible LEGO artist hailing from Oakland, California. Yesterday, Alex posted a wonderful gallery to Reddit from his amazing Lego Movie Scenes series. In the gallery below you can see how he has faithfully recreated some of cinema’s most iconic films and scenes.

The detail of the sets and backgrounds are quite remarkable, but equally impressive is the lighting setup he uses to capture each scene. It really adds to the overall quality of the works.

Gleaning some additional information from the comments, we know the following:

– Everything you see here has already been torn apart and disassembled (doesn’t have enough pieces to keep intact)
– For lighting, he uses simple desk lamp and paper to diffuse light along with diligent use of shadow and contrast
– Time spent on lighting is roughly equal to time spent building the scene
– Some pics of his workshop can be found here
