Here's yet another swing/swivel type card I created using the MTC program. This time I decided to try something a little different and experimented with a fan shape for this birthday card for a very special friend. Getting the fan to be centered on the closed card was a little bit of a challenge but I think I finally got it to where I'm pretty happy with it. Fan insert was cut using my Cricut and the Pagoda cartridge, sized in Cricut Design Studio to fit my card. Japanese kanji character "kotobuki" for "congratulations" and "long life" was cut on the Silhouette using a cutfile created in MTC. I used the Sizzix Birds and Branches decorative strip die for the leaves and branches and medium and small Carl Sakura punches for the cherry blossoms. Flower centers were punched from a Punch Bunch mini flower center punch. Here's the card opened to show the inside. Orignally the card looked kind of bare on the inside, so I decided to add my very first "ningyo-gami" or "Japanese paper doll" to liven it up a little. She was actually pretty easy and fun to make. I used tutorials I found on Pinterest like this one by Lina Conde and this one by Melanie Gray Augustin. Need to play around and practice a bit more with this, and hopefully, when I get better at it I may want to try a project showcasing these type of paper dolls.
For my second Kaisercraft Hanami Garden card I used a piece of the 12 x 12 paper, matted onto a plainer piece and then all onto a red card base. The paper is so lovely, I just added a few flowers, a…

The images have been stamped on Whisper White card stock and coloured with Blends Markers. These are my favourite colouring tool (at the moment), they are especially easy to use if you want to be colouring in whilst watching the tennis! The colours I used are listed below. The piece with the temple image was cut out using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies from the new Mini Catalogue. I fussy cut the lady and the lanterns with my Stampin' Snips. The blossoms were cut using the Seasonal Layers dies and were coloured in the centers using a sponge dauber and Blushing Bride ink pad. The branch was also from the Seasonal Layers dies. The Real Red background was embossed with the Stone 3D embossing folder. This was mounted on to a Basic Black card base. The next demonstrator to share their Sale-a-bration inspiration with you is the very talented Ros Davidson. A bientôt !

Have you all checked out the competitions we are running on facebook this week? We are so excited to announce the addition of the Kool Tak product line to our USA website. Our design team has already had the chance to play with this range and they all love the versatility and the professional results they achieved. Cibele had this to say; "I'm not sure if you're like me but when it comes to adhesive, I can never have too much or too many different kinds. Each one serves it's purpose depending on my project - if you're in the market for adhesive, I hope you'll give some of the Kool Tak products a try."
