The Belvedere on Klausberg hill was the last construction that Frederick the Great had built. The word 'Belvedere' means a pretty view, its name was chosen because of the nice view the building offered over Park Sanssouci. Architect Georg Unger designed the Belvedere between 1770 and 1772. It was built on a round floor plan, the pavillon is surrounded by two levels of columns. The dome at its top is decorated with figures of some divinities. View location in Park Sanssouci, Potsdam, Germany.

1970 Opel calender - Wieskirche, Bavaria Bavaria, without any doubt Germany's most beautiful Bundesland. The Wieskirche near Steingaden, whose official name is Pilgrimage Church of the Scourged Saviour (Wallfahrtskirche zum Gegeißelten Heiland auf der Wies), is the most beautiful rococo church in Bavaria and probably in the world. The church has been a UNESCO world heritage site since 1983. The church was completed in 1754 based on designs by the brothers Dominikus and Johann baptist Zimmermann and is a masterpiece of 18th century rococo art. Rococo is a late baroque building style dating between 1730 and 1770. See where this picture was taken. [?]
