Are you looking for a fun solving equations activity? In this post are a bunch of solving equations activities that work great as centers, stations, review activities and independent work.
Help students develop a deeper understanding of fraction operations using pictorial area models to connect the concepts of equivalent fractions and common denominators. In this small group activity, students analyze 20 pictured fraction problems across 5 problem-solving mats that represent addition and subtraction with unlike denominators. They then find a matching solution for each pictured problem showing a numeric and picture representation of the solution. Reinforces the procedures needed for fraction operations. This activity also includes a link to a digital version with your purchase. Use this digital option for distance learning needs, to keep absent students engaged with the class activities, or in combination with the print materials to ensure learning beyond the group activity. Students in both math and science struggle with identifying the independent and dependent variable in a situation. They need mastery of this skill to apply to contextual situations, especially when working with graphs of functions in algebra. Use this hands-on activity to help develop their conceptual understanding of the variables in a bi-variate situation. In this activity, students link 40 variable cards using 20 different linking terms to create relationship statements showing how a dependent and independent variable are related together. This activity also includes a link to a digital version with your purchase.
